Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
Aryan didn't like the rear spoiler or the cowl scoop so they came off the car. There has been a liittle bit of work but nothing to worry about. We are changing scoops but the hood is so rough we have to do some body work first. We changed out the funky wood grain shifter ball for a t handle.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
I'm not for sure what the Stang will run like. I really don't think it sounds anything but stock. So she may be a mutt. I guess we will find out. Aryan has been messing with Jeff about taking him out. So much so that it has ended with a temporary statement on the tail panel.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
Jeff, Aryan says take a good look at this because he's going to be too far ahead of you to read it on his car.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
I messed around with the hood on the Mustang today while Corey played around with some lettering just for fun. The car will be painted in the future so you really can't hurt it. Aryan and me stop in KOI for some sand paper today and he spent some time looking at color chips. He's still not sure what color he wants it.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
It's offical. The Mustang runs like a typical Ford. I have never drove the car untill today. I went down the street and laid it open. WOW!!

.
What a slow ride!
Just doesn't seem to have any balls at all. Also I'm not sure if it's a mis adjusted shifter cable or what but the trans seems like it doesn't want to go into drive like it should. I need to get it out where no one is and open it up through all 3 gears. I don't want to waist my time at the track if I can't get into 3rd.
I see a 350 in the future.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
I have it sitting out front. Aryan wants to wash it up. I may run out in the county and grab a few gal. of racing fuel later today if anyone wants to ride along.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
I'm hoping this one just need adjusted or something. It's going into 3rd but not like it should. It has a manual valve body in the trans so I'm hoping that maybe I just didn't get up enough RPM's or something. I've never drove anything with a manual valve body in the trans so I don't know how it is suppose to act.falconwagon62 wrote:I have a FMX that will yank your head off!

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
Aryan didn't like the cowl hood scoop and neither did I so it was yanked.
Bad part is the scoop was covering up 100's of holes from scoops that had been on the car in the past. It also covered 2 sqaure holes that was cut out. One in the front of the hood and one in the back.
The bracing has been cut out from under the hood and the hood is junk. He needs a new one. I figured I'd touch it up enough for him to get by untill we can get a better hood for it.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
The scoop we put on is open in the front so that square hole had to be fixed along with the many, many drilled holes.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
We gobbed on some mud and finished it with 40 grit paper to get it shaped and then just smoothed it out with some glaze. Fast and cheap way. Shot a few coats of good primer and it was ready for some semi gloss black.
Need to wash the water spots off but you get the idea.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
I sure wish they wouldn't have put those goofy blue stripes on the car. We could have left it alone for a while. What do you guys think about a Viper Red for the body color with semi gloss black mach striping on it?

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
It was funny today. Arayn was getting ready to wash the Mustang but when I walked out the front he was in the back yard. I was telling him before that the cops would tow the Stang if we got it on the street with race trim. There was 4 cops dealing with something across the street. I figured out Aryan was lurking in the back and trying not to draw attension to the car. He heard me out there talking to the cops and he walked out. Not sure what he was think. Maybe the cops where there to get his car?? LOL. One of the cops came on over and checked out the car and was bragging on it. I guess that made Aryan feel pretty good.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
Some of the guys came down the other night. Jr ask to fire it up. When I tried to start it, it acted like the flywheel had a bad spot in it. I kept on hitting the starter buttom but the starter just kicked over. Butch told me to hold on and after he got to looking the starter had fell off the car. ???? I guess Fords are like Harleys. Keep bailey wire and vise grips cause something going to fall off? .
Thanks Butch for jumping in there. He had the starter back on in a few seconds.

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
If you own a Harley, you better keep a tube of Blue lock-tite handy, it becomes your best friend... I guess I have been lucky never lost a part yet in 20 plus years of beating around on HD's

Re: Aryan's 73 Mustang
Butch was telling me about a parts car of Craigs List. I looked at the picture and the parts car looked like it had some really nice parts. I talked to the guy and he said I could have the car for 400 bucks. Aryan was tickled to death. The car may have held his seats, valance, bumpers and alot of small stuff he needed. We drove up there and this car was nothing but junk. There was only a few small things we could use. It wasn't a totle waiste. We did buy the center peice of the dash he needed. Just like any old car you just have to keep digging for parts.

Front valence panel
Plastic A pillar trim for the inside if it's not broke.
Shock tower brace
nice rear view mirror
kicker panels
passenger side mirror,
Front bumper if it's not bent. Metal or the rubber one.
Back bumper if it's not bent
all the windshield wiper stuff, motor, arms ect ect.
Sun visors and the center visor holder
Steering column(be nice if it was tilt or tilt away)
front and back seats. Can be rough as long as the springs are usable for new padding and skins.
Arm rests. L & R
Hood if it's nice.
Gas filler tube that cap goes on.
Trim piece for center of dash if it's not the wood grain one. We bought one but don't like the wood grain.
John if you have any of this stuff take a look at it and let me know what ya have and what you would have to have for it.
