Enjoy my friends. Nothing against anyone on here or the gasser project but this spring ima be swamped either working or working on the c10. Last year I did so much work on Schmidt's regal I didn't have time for my own crap. ...

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
We need to get the stuff that is out with club members back here. There are some small things that could be done if only a few people showed up. Like working on the dash or steering wheel. Pulling the rearend out of the truck we are going to use or a number of small things. If we have a bunch of guys then we could take the body off the frame. hard to plan anything for a day when you don't know if 2 people or 10 will show.

The driveshaft is now in Ky and with Mr. Nanook so he has it when ever you need it.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
No one is interested or I'd have it now. If the same amount says let's do it sooner I will.
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
Trying to fit everything in. Also I have the Bubblegum and Bailing Wire classes coming up. Seems to be more interest in that than the gasser.
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
I have been doing this a long time and I know people. There are only a few people interested in the gasser project and even less than that willing to work on it. What I thought would bring the club together really didn't. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I know I'm tired of tripping over stuff for it. I have one parking spot in the pole building with nothing but the chrome and donated parts. Outside I have body parts scattered from one side of the yard to the next, not counting the body. To be honest I'm tired of looking at the stuff if it's not going to bring more than a few people together to build it. I guess everyone has their own thing going on and that is fine.
We can sell it outright with everything we have for it. I don't really think anyone would buy it but you never know. Either way club members get first dibs. If someone want to PM me an offer I'll talk it over with some of the brass and figure out what we want to do. Another option is to come and get what you donated. This would have to be agreed with by all members that helped with parts or work.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
There are a lot of things going on in my own life that just doesn't have me feeling so interested in the project so I understand other club members feelings. We all have families, life issues and our own cars and projects to work on. What the club use to be when I first joined is not how it is now. I just don't think anymore projects JUST for the club will work. This is the 3rd one we have tried since 2005 and they have never came out to be what they should be. Either way we go I'd like to figure it out by the end of the month. Like I said before the car is scattered all over my property and every time I turn around there is something to it in my way.
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
Understand completely Steve. I was a little disappointed on how this didn't take off either.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
I understand also. My time is limited to saturdays after 3:00 and sundays. And family has to fall in there somewhere. I wish I had the knowledge, I love the idea behind the project but without help and guidance I'm afraid it would just be something taking up space that would never get finished with me also. Disappointed also, but I understand. Was hoping to.contribute to this and be part of something bigger than myself.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
I haven't gotten any PMs from anyone of what we should do with the stuff. No one is interested in buying the project? If no club member wants to buy it what should we ask for it to the public?
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
$500 OBO? When it comes to old(er) iron I'm a bit in the dark for market prices.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
You could put the car and all the stuff in a truck and scrap it for more than that.
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
To bad it can't move forward....But like you said, jobs, families, health and life gets in the way....I just regret not buying the Falcon gasser...I have junk around here I could have done something.....But with a JOB...now starting to get my Real Estate gig moving...Yes, I am an Ohio Licensed Real Estate Salesman now....Plus my stuff, I am lucky I have time to sleep......
Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
Find a young man (or young lady) who would love to get into the hobby, and hand them the keys, along with all the parts. If we can get one young person into our hobby, that's worth more than money. In my humble opinion. Just my two cents.

How about an old dog that want to learn a few new tricks, And maybe take a couple of young pups along. I think that was the point of this exercise in the first place. Unfortunately the pups did not follow...
