Well, first car show of the 1012 season starts tomorrow. GSTA, or Gopher State Timing Association. Not a large one, but it signals the start of a new season. I'll try to get some pics, and post them for all to see.
I wish one and all a wonderful day. Till Later, from the North.

Re: Chit Chat Specific To Minnesota Chapter
Hey there all. I'm still around, just had to take care of some business there for a bit. I am starting in on the Camaro again as something is amiss. Special thanks to Dan for helping me get going on that. Super bummed I missed the GSTA, I was really hoping to go to that.

Re: Chit Chat Specific To Minnesota Chapter
Hey Nate, If memory serves me correctly, and that is a BIG IFF, there is supposed to be a swap meet up in Hugo this Sunday, you interested? Don't feel too bad about missing last weekend. I was down too. Had minor sugery, all is well now. Next one is in August, and that one will slow me down for a while, have to get the shoulder done again. Too many times coming out of airplanes, and helicopters, then bouncing arround in tanks and armored personell carriers. All that time took it's toll. Let me know if you are interested?
Re: Chit Chat Specific To Minnesota Chapter
Minnesota Chapter of the Buick Owners is having a car show and Huge Swap Meet on 6-May at the Monnesota State Fairgrounds. Should be a good time. I'll try to get some pics, and post them someplace. Never know, I just may find some usefull parts for something or another. True Garage Logic.
Re: Chit Chat Specific To Minnesota Chapter
Well, finaly got to meet Nate. Cool dude, eager to learn.
Got the new fuel system on the Camaro, took it out for a test ride, and Nate rode along. As the one of the coralaries, I think I spelt it right, the Gremlins came out in full force. Rolled about for a bit on Saturday night. All went well. Tucked the hotrod away for the night. Went to go for a stroll on Sunday, and wouldnt you know it, the transmission started acting up. Nursed it back home, up on the lift, Did I say how nice it is to have one? Pulled all the stuff out of the way, drained the transmission, what an awfull smell. An thru the grace of the good Lord, some guardian angels, and some truly great friends, there is a different transmission residing between the frame rails tonight. Now, all I have to do is fill it with fluid, test ride, and all set for the big show and swap meet this coming Sunday. I'll do my best to get some pics for one and all to see. Then it'll be time to tear down the old transmission, and figure out why the plates and fricition disks burnt up. Between all that, I've been talking to Nate about his ride. Other than that, working on a couple people that have expressed somewhat of an interest in the club. I'll keep you posted on Gremlin City, which I think is now a suburb of HotRod Haven. Yall have a wonderful day, and week. From the Great North State Of Hockey, Dan.

Dan it's sad to hear you are having trans problems already. It's great to hear that with the friends you have up there you got her ready to roll again. That's what it's all about! Good deal!

Re: Chit Chat Specific To Minnesota Chapter
Hey Nate........We went to the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals back in the late 70's and early 80's when it was in Indy and Ill. Had a great time, back then you had to get your entry posted marked as early as possible to get in. I remember going to the Post Office early to get my entry in before the cutoff of 5,000 cars. I think we went about 5 different years.
Back then we got to make a few laps around the Indianapolis Speedway. Your weren't supposed to drive too fast but that of course went in one ear and out the other. A few getting ready for their turn.
The street racing took over Shadeland Ave in Indy that weekend. Here's a shot of the local law getting ready to take back control. This was the night that my wife got intoduced to riot gas and met a K-9 member of the Marion County Sherrif's Partol up close and personal.
Here's the bus they used to haul away the racers............
Don't mean to hi jack your thread but I just got my scanner hooked up and running. Hard for me to believe that it was over 30 years ago. We sure had fun going to those. My daughter was at one when she was just a couple of months old. Have fun and post up some pictures when your done. As you can see, hood scoops and blowers were in style 30 years ago.

I've got boxes and boxes of pictures. More than I care to think of because of all the money in developing. I never seem to get the computer time here at home. This thing is for someone's homework first and then play comes much later. I still got a shoe box of undeveloped cans of film that I have no idea what's on them or when they were taken.
