Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
This was a really cool trip. We left the house around 6:30 am and headed to Nashville TN to pic up a wide five rim for my project. We made really good time and even stopped in at an old speed shop. It started in 1968?? Riggs? and was still going but the sell 'em in the front and build them in the back shop was no more. It now looks like a Summit or Jegs store with higher prices. The cool old neon sign was still hanging.
We made it to the guys house for the rim. It is useable and then headed north to Junkyard Junkys place.

On the way there we ran into this and thought we would bring it home. The 10.5 price tag left it sitting there.
We made it to Jonathans shop but he wasn't there. He went up north to grab a T frame. Well the complete roller with the drivetrain. It took him a while to get back but his dad kept us company and we got to look around at all of Jonathans goodies. Tons of pics. Dial up beware!

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
By this time Jonathan had made it back with his frame he just bought and ask if we wanted to take a look at the other property and then on to the guys house with all the cars.
Here are just two from his other property.
We looked around a bit and checked out a few old cars and then headed out to the guys house.
Pulling up to the front I already knew this was going to be cool.

The guy that owns all of this is 76 years old. He's not just some old farm hick. He was an old hot rodder and was telling us stories about him and his brothers rods. This Olds was one of their road rockets. He lost me on the motor but I think he said it had a later Olds, souped up with an adapted Ford trans. He was also very proud of the rubber. He said that they ran the same tires as the Nascar guys did that year.

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
The ol' timer walked us around the yard telling us stories about the cars. We came into this barn and I was checking out this Chevy when I heard him say something about Edmonds.
This was the car he was talking about. I walked around the back and here's this Ford with Edmond heads and a two pot intake. It looks like it been sitting there untouched for 40 + years. This was another one of their road rockets they built.

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
This place is cool. Everywhere you would look you would find something that was just wicked and with a story behind it. It left me wondering about all the really wild stuff that was hidden away that no one could see.
How about a 23, 25 and a 28 sitting in a row?

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
He started telling us about this 25 T. He built it. The frame was all that was left of his dads 25 T The body had rusted off of it so he yanked the body off and put this one on.
He went on telling us about some of what he did including putting these springs on the front. He call them cushion springs. I'd never seen anything like them. He said it was to make it ride smoother.

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
He rapped up the showing of the T by showing us the stock engine with an aftermarket overhead valve head. It looked funny seeing a valve cover on an otherwise stock t engine. Not that the 25 would be a street burner by todays standards but back in the day this thing was modified pretty good.

Re: Our Trip to Nashville and then to Glasgow...
it was awesome seeing all this old stuff and most of it didnt look like it had been touched. what really sucks though is the fact that he didnt have a son only one daughter and 2 think of what will happen if the ole man kicks the bucket. all that will be scrapped. id take any of them in a heart beat especially the lincon.... i want that land yacht...
