Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
Guide coats with other color primer helps alot.
The rest of the week has been kept in the house. I can't handle the heat too good. The other day I thought it was just me untill I seen this on my back deck.

Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
The picture is the front rims I ordered a while back. I bit the bullet and bought the back ones a few minutes ago. Having dropped over $800.00 on rims is not uncommon now a days but for this guy it is not something I would normally do. The tires will kill me. I'm looking at over $1700.00 in rims and rubber by the time I'm done. I'm not sure if building these cars are worth that kind of money.RebStew wrote:Pic of the wheels I bought for the Bird. Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
I think the wheels make the car or at least brightens it up a bit. I've always liked the Crager type of wheel. Good choice!

Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
Not wide enough and a little too short for what I want.hotrodaaron77 wrote:Sorry 235 45 18
I'm looking at a set of 255/45's right now. 27" tall and a 10" footprint. Just hard to spend the money right now.
Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
How far u plan on lowering it. Mine has 245 45 18 on the back when I took it down three inches the lip was sitting on the tire I didn't want to roll my lip that's why I got the two inch. I think it sits pretty good now. I know it sure handles better round turns

Re: Broken Wing Project. The 'Bird
I did a ton of reading on some of the Pro Touring forums and a lot of measuring on the offset of the rim to get it to fit. With a little hammer work on the inner fenderwell where the seat belt bracket bulges it out I could squeeze a 12" overall width tire under the back. That's with the car sitting low. My shocks will have to be relocated but that doesn't bother me. I have been wanting to do that for years. The mounting point on the top in the back is a factory screw up. I had to rework the passenger side years ago and when I had the 4 speed and slicks on it I messed it up again. So the shocks will be put inboard like I always wanted too. I'm not going as wide as I could on the tires but I want to be able to shove some wide stuff under it later on so I may even end up doing a mini tub.
