I will now be parting out the T anybody need a glass body, a partially done frame, how about a chrome 4" drop axle or a plain 4" drop axle.( both suicide style or they would already be inder the new money pit).... Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
Its a 50 footer... I figure the chev was to fast and scarey so I needed to find something that was harder and slower to drive.. Cause you guys know me I'm the kinda guy that likes to just say i have a old car and never drive it, since the Chev just sat in the garage and I never drove it anywhere....
Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!

Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
I don't see me taking a cut off wheel to it anytime soon.. Just plan on getting the banger to run decent, and as reliable as i can, and putting a drop axle on it and my 'Stones and driving the heck out of it at 40 mph ..... FOR NOW....... Winter is just around the corner, and I have a few ideas kicking just gotta see how things go with this banger motor..I might be able to hit a tic under 26 sec. in the 1/4 at Bowling Green in a few weeks.. Look out Geezer Gassers here I come...

Hey..........That's pretty sweet. I've seen some of those bangers really run in some vintage racers. Don't forget your seat belts. I think I saw your old Chevy over at Muncie going rounds. It must be living over in central Indiana now?

KOKOMO INDIANA Real nice guy.. I plan on keeping the A a creeper for now, I don't have the deep pockets like some of you guys to go fast.. Besides I heard that speed kills.

Yeah, you'll have to worry about that now that you got a Ford.

MAybe I should just start taking speed to make it seem like I am driving fast, hell i could use to loose a few pounds, And don't forget I drive a FORD everyday, well almost everyday I have been sporting a wicked TOYOTA FJ-40 here lately....
Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
Ryan.... bro...Its about time you got your head straight. That Model A is sweet ! You know I have a soft spot for those old A bones. I say rip off the fenders and chop down the top put it in gear and never stop! Leave the banger and just dress it up with a OHV conversion, header, etc. Maybe now you can get your brother motivated on his sport coupe project. I will save you a good spot at the Nats in August.

For sure.. The plans are to keep the banger for a while till she lets go or something stupid like that, but I hate to break it to everyone but the fenders are staying...lol I have already caught more crap about the fenders than anything on the car, except for the porta walls the ole' boy had on there, but I cut them off already, in preparation for my New tires that where slated for the T, just gotta get the nose outa the air before I pop on the big-n-littles. So you know me if everyone hates em' I'm keeping 'em cuz thats how I roll...lol In the famous words of JUG-HEAD STUDERVANT (lead singer for SS-20 famous cincy punk band from back in the day) " EVERYTHING YOU HATE IS WHAT I AM!"
And I will for sure see you at the NAts this year, I will just have to leave by July 4th if I am driving down, it is a FORD after all.
Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
I'm wanting to get insurance on dad's model a so I can drive it some this summer. I always wanted to take a complete model a, swap it to a flathead V8 and just drive it.

Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
The car was a amatuer restoration at best, but it is SOLID AS A ROCK. No Interior other than a seat which is all I am used to anyway. Bone stock. All my cars are 50 footers always have been always will be. And If I told you what I paid for it you would call me out.It was not a lot in my eye's. Once i sold the Chev I started getting scared i could'nt find a decent car in my price range that I wanted. I almost went the MOPAR route again, but it was a TURD! Then I found a stock 36 Ford 2 door Sedan in Florida but it was rougher than the guy led on about. So I started asking around and a searching craigslist in other cities, I found the add for the 31 so I called the ol' guy and bought it sight unseen basically. Drove 45 miles outside of Cleveland on Saturday Morn, made the deal and had her on the trailer in 30 to 45 minute, then drove another 5 hour's home, then unloaded her and took every kid in the nieghbor hood late night drives.. So No I did'nt pay $10,000 for it ( already a rumor about that) not even close... I was well under that mark just to set the rumor straight. But for a solid running with a clear matching title and all the right pieces car I did ok ( in my own stinky opinion).. So after all my trading buying and selling for over 7years I am back with another Model A ....I will have more pics soon, if anybody is interested..

Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
Even though you are going to keep the 4 in it I would recommend upgrading the brakes to hydraulic as I heard those original brakes are not that great,I think they have sheetmetal drums and can expand a bunch when hot.

If those wheels are 16 inch and could use a spare I think I have one in the shed.

Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
They are 16's The brakes work great on it, I have a full set of hydraulic brakes off a 40's ford that I may use, but for now I'm keeping the mechanical, kinda going with a pre-war style beater....Since it is already set-up that way, easy for me....lol
Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
If you go down any long and windy down hill curvey roads use the motor to slow you as much as you can.

Thanks for the tip Jeff, I was just planning on dragging my feet...
Re: OPPP"S I DID IT AGAIN!
I heard from a couple oldtimers the brakes were terrible on the model As when heated up,I dont know if all had the sheetmetal drums but be carefull if driving in the hill country.
