Got that right.frmula505 wrote:Yup, first step, get rid of all the crap. Then just start from fresh. No sense in trying to repair stuff that is no good. Great start!

1968 230ci 68,000 original miles. Needs a bath, new gaskets, and some paint and it'll be good to go.

Re: Tentative new project
Actually got to spend some time on the 60 today, got off work early and for once know rain. (Sunshine state my a**) Got the motor degreased and the old wiring stripped. Hopefully I'll finish the honey do list early tomorrow, and get some paint on things. Then new oil pump, timing set, water pump and gaskets. After that she should be ready to drop in. Try to get some pics. tomorrow.

Re: Tentative new project
Its looking good so far, if your going to put the 6 in it the timing gear you will not have to replace the inline 6 is gear to gear, no chain that will save you a dollar or two you can put it on something else.....

Re: Tentative new project
Put in some more time on her today.
Got some paint on the engine, and engine bay
In between coats I decided to start on the stainless, someone had decided it needed painted, 3 different times.
They still need some sanding and buffing, but they look better than they did.
