Tentative new project Empty Tentative new project

Post by Chris55 August 24th 2014, 2:01 am

Well I needed this like I needed another hole in my head, but this is one of my bucket list cars. She's kinda ruff and rusty, but her frame is solid as a rock. no motor or trans, but has a narrowed 4.11 nine inch. My plans as of now are to drop in a 250 six and powerglide and make this my daily. As of right now I've made a deal on it, and am waiting for the guy to pull the motor and trans. I never say it's a sure thing till it's sitting in my driveway. But her she is in all her rusted glory, a 1960 Biscayne 2 door.

What do you mean the crappy flames the ugly wheels and the stupid hood scoop? Yeah those are all gone as soon ASAP. What you can't see, are the badly done spider web pin strips, the flames cut out of the hood scoop, and the rat rods rule stickers. The previous owner said it gets more looks than those $100,000 cars. Yeah and more laughs to I'd bet.

Haha exactly.  That's a popular quote from guys with stupid crap stuck all over their cars.  Let's not forget to mention those sweet sweet bucket seats!  Razz

I know you will treat it right.  Cool find and a good save.

Going to drop a 250 6 cylinder and a glide in it for now, (unless a small block happens to fall into my lap) and get rid of all the suck as devil put it. Future plans call for lots of body work, drop it, a set of chrome reverse wheels with black walls, and some shine. Before all that though, I have to get it home..... Very Happy

Something like this maybe. A little more tire in the back, and a little lower.

That's not any rust. Did you forget where you came from. In Ohio it would have been 10 times worse. lol

Is that scoop just bolted on or did they cut a hole in the hood?

Yup, first step, get rid of all the crap. Then just start from fresh. No sense in trying to repair stuff that is no good. Great start!
