Speaking of that I'm moving things from one garage to another and just pulled down the 91-92 Z28 High rise Spoiler out of the rafters lol
You kept that, eh? Ever get the LT1 into your truck project?

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
I work third shift now, so I would like to help out with the gasser project, because I'm ready to get back into the old car scene, I miss it a lot. So when ever you need an extra pair of hands willing to help let me know, I'm off Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I dont go into work till 11pm so I'm free all day. And plus I'm excited about the new project and I'm excited to learn some new things about building cars.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
My nephew works in a body shop where they fool with old cars from time to time. He's used the steering wheel epoxy before. He's going to give it a try on tis one. It's a lot rougher in person than it looks in the pictures..pepboys speedshop wrote:why not glass the wheel and have it powder coated white?

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
The kids and I carried the dog house to the garage. I was able to get emblem and all the grille chrome off other than the chrome around the grille. It's being a pain but I'll get it.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
Right place at the right time. Chris down in FL let us all know he had an axle for the gasser but the problem was it cost too much to ship. We could have bought one up here for what shipping would cost.
A few weeks ago Greg tells me he seen well over a 100 manatees. I thought he had drank one too many Bud Lights. I thought about it for a while and then ask where he was. His reply was I'm on vacation in Florida. A grin went across my face. I ask what he was driving and he tells me he's in his truck. What do you need hauled? I told him Chris had a axle for the gasser. Greg has one of those newer trucks he tells me the bed is 68" deep. If it fits he will grab it. I get back with Chris and it makes it in at 64" dust cap to dust cap. Greg spends the next few days with his family and then drops in on Chris to grab the axle. A super huge thanks for both Chris and Greg. I hated to ask Greg to break his vacation to help but this is one of the biggest parts we needed. I still have not seen it. With the weather being so crazy I just haven't had a chance to pick it up but the axle did make it's way from Florida to Northern Kentucky.
Thanks again Chris for the axle and thanks Greg for the transport and breaking up your vacation to grab it. Tell the better half I'll take you guys out for dinner when it warms up to make it up to her.
Picture Chris took after getting it in the bed of the truck.

Re: Scroungers Gasser Project
Faster, easier and cheaper to build a truck with a regular bed. The whole back bottom half is gone and the time it would take to fix it and make a inner bed for the Ute we could just back a pick up. Not counting dealing with the work of doing away with the rear doors.
