Scroungers Gasser Project

While some of us attacked the gasser others took time to hang out and have some fun. The gals spent time later in the day planning out our 2014 runs for the club. That needed to be done in a bad way. The kids shot guns and went hiking. I think it was a good day for everyone.

Who needs horse power when you have a big block Randy.

Just don't let Heather help you out of the engine bay.

I thought we were going to wrap it up for the day but everyone was giving it their all. Time for the pain in the rear dog house. It was a pain to pull but we got it!

We took a good look at what was left before we called it a day.

Thanks everyone. It was a good start. We got more done today than I thought we would..   

We got some more parts donated to the gasser project today too. Thanks Marty and Aaron. I'll post it up on our parts list.

Hey i had a good day got a good start how about the same work session next sunday. Weld in braces and cut her apart?

We will have to see what the weather does but I'm game. Even if just a few of us show. Saturday or Sunday.

Few pictures I took today. With turning this into a truck I guess we don't have to worry much about the back end. I told the guys yesterday that for a future project we may do some body work on the back end of the car and sheet the open end to close it up. Sit it on a small trailer frame with a hitch and box the inside of the trunk and make a rolling BBQ grill out of it. Open the trunk and toss on the burgers for race track day. Maybe use the side doors to put in a cooler on one side and a place for tools on the other. Everyone looked at me like I was nuts.    Maybe we will crush it. Who knows.

We are going to make a flip front end for the gasser. Beside welding the hood on the fenders this dog house has tons of seams that will need to be weld together. Not hard work but it will be a bunch of wire spent.

With as bad as the back of the car was I was worried what we would find when we pulled the front fenders off. It will need some work on the lower cowl on both sides but it's not as back as I thought it would be. Both sides are about the same.

Better watch the 'Mo with that dash, he might try to put it in a corvette or something

I'm liking the truck idea the more I look at it.

Wished I was closer so it would be easier to run down. I will definitely try to run down some Saturday, need a break from the complete bathroom remodel anyway

Was a very good time and I do wish I could have hung out for the doghouse removal. Nice work everyone!  

I think that the back half as a trailer is a neat idea. However, I al like incorporating some of the trunk lid chrome accessories into the tailgate of the truck. And, to be honest, what money we could get for scrap on the leftovers would help further along the build. Just my 2 cents...

I think the track trailer is a good idea. Grill, cooler, and tools all in one accessible location. What else could you ask for

I wasn't thinking when we pulled the dog house. We should have put it in the garage. I could have cleaned up some of those panel sections on the hood that needs welded together and started welding those all up in my spare time.

Do you need help moving it to the garage?

Speaking of that I'm moving things from one garage to another and just pulled down the 91-92 Z28 High rise Spoiler out of the rafters lol
