Re: The Big M is home.
I would have thought the original 312 mounts turned around would work. Thats how we used to put FE motors in our old '56 Fords years ago. That big old blue anchor looks good setting in there and I love that jazzy alternator!

That's my concession to the General. And the chrome was cheaper than plain aluminum. So what the hey?!

I didn't have the 312 mounts. You are probably right.

It's nice when parts start going back on. I know what you mean about the cold toes. How nice would it be to have one of the heated floors in a garage.

A pair of heated (battery powered electric) socks might be cheaper and easier. Had some years ago, they were pretty toasty!

Re: The Big M is home.
I would think Junkyard Jeff would have a supply of those old Y-Block mounts. I gave him a couple of those old slugs with the mounts on them. I can't believe he would have discarded them. I guess it doesn't much matter if you got that thing mounted in there. Is that a one wire alternator? Man, it sure is flashy. You'll have to get some billet valve covers and a polished intake to go with it! Heck you won't need a hood. You'll have it up all the time show'n that fancy chrome.

That's why you need the bright Ford blue wire loom.... to compliment the yellow plug wires!

Re: The Big M is home.
Hey Doug,
I went on line looking for the Y-block mounts and it looks like you guys are right. They look a lot taller than the mounts I started with and would probably put the engine about where it is now. But just think what a life experience I would have missed if I hadn't made my own adapters.

Re: The Big M is home.
I got the master cylinder mounted up. Got the front brakes plumbed up and the line run to the rear for the rear brakes for when I get the rear end swapped out. Started getting the inner fenders put back in. Having fun trying to get everything to line back up right. I have a couple of pics on the phone. When I get to work I'll try to get them loaded.

You know it would be easier to put this thing together if I had been the one to take it apart!
