Pep Boys Florence
I was killing some time today before I picked the boys up from school and decided to walk around Pep Boys. They were doing a bunch of rearranging and had several new isles setup where they usually have the cheap dirt bikes and four wheelers. I talked to one of the employees and apparently they are adding one of their speed shops to the Florence store. Looks like they are going to have a much larger selection of speed parts than any other commercial store around. Of course if they over charge for these parts like they do their normal parts, it won't help much. Especially since we are able to get parts so quickly from Summit and Jegs.

Re: Pep Boys Florence
I had to work late tonight so I decided to kill some time out in Florence today. I needed to pick up a couple things for the Mustang so I thought I'd check on the progress of the speed shop at pep boys. Here are some pics of how it is coming along...

I talked with the guy who is in change of this area. Said they are hoping to have much of what you'd get at Jegs or Summit. If they don't have it, to be able to get it in a day or two. This isn't aisles of the ricer stick on crap either.
He is hoping to be able to setup discounts with clubs. I told him we'd love to get something setup.
I hope he jumps on the forum and says hi.

Re: Pep Boys Florence
I can tell you that the manager is interested in having a car club meet on their lot once or twice a month. Spoke with her earlier this summer...just an idea in case anyone wants to make it a club cruise one night.
Thanks for the pics and updates...looks good!

Re: Pep Boys Florence
Folks, I'll be happy to swing by there and speak with the manager if you like. I can stop in after work or on my day off (Tuesdays). Just let me know...I don't want to step on any toes.

It's not the store manager that is heading up this part, or talking about the account setup. Not that the manager isn't apart of it but that is not who I've been talking with. Any of the employies can help with this area but they hired someone just for this area. Also, they are still trying to get all the inventory in place. I'm sure it won't be till the first of the year before we can get the ball rolling on the account.

Re: Pep Boys Florence
Okay, that's good to know. I was up there in June (or July) with another club and the manager and an employee both spoke with me about the desire to have a car club come up on a weekend evening and hang out in their lot. I am not sure where some of you live but perhaps a once a month swing out their way, along with the support of the new parts section, could prove fruitful for both us and Pep Boys. Just a thought...

I was up there Saturday at the car show for the grand opening of the speed shop and talk to Brit the speed shop manager and he said he talked to Benjamin and was wandering if we still wanted to set up a Club account.

Re: Pep Boys Florence
That's funny. Last time I was in I asked about setting an account up and he said that the best he could do was basically save us tax and could get us free shipping on any special order parts. I will try and get in soon and talk with him and see what we can get setup.
Thanks for the info.
Did you get any pics of the event?
