An expensive one too!
I've been working on the engine off and on from time to time at night. Helping my buddy work on his cousin's 67 gto which is a piece of junk so I haven't gotten alot accomplished. Put the cam back in and inspected the lifters. Saw that they were worn so new ones were ordered along with a new cam. So I had to pull the old one out. Got the heads and intake on along with the oil pan. Just need to drop the engine in.

Glad to hear progress is being made but that is a bummer about the cam change. What did you go with for a cam?

Finally got everything put back together and got the car running. Trans leaked like crazy. Called the owner of the trans shop and I had to wait close to two weeks before I could get in. Took it on a Tuesday and had to wait 7 business days to get it back.

Trans started leaking again. I drove it a week ago and parked it. Since then its leaked a 8 inch diameter pool of trans fluid. Sure wish I went to a turbo 350 or 700r4. Going to call the strans shop tomorrow.

Put new O ring seals in.

Might be a good gas pedal for the wagon.

Okay that is an awesome gas pedal. Hopefully you can get all the kinks worked out with the car.

Its leaking where the shifter rod goes into back of the trans. Not much but when it sits for a week, it adds up. I've had good luck with the trans shop in previous years. I was told they were hard to stop leaking.

Re: 1962 Bel air 9 passenger station wagon
Just ordered a master cylinder. Started checking on what it takes to get rid of the control valve and cylinder which leaks. Seems like the best deal is from Eckler's Late Great Chevy. New Delphi 600 gear box with a univesal joint and new steering shaft. A direct bolt in. A 605 gear box required an adapter plate for the gear box to be bolted to the frame.

Re: 1962 Bel air 9 passenger station wagon
Got the gear box on and I'm kind of disappointed due to a couple of problems. Power steering pump pulley was hitting the gear box so I had to get a belt that was so short that I barely got it on and then has little adjustment. Orded power steering hoses that I was told was going to work. Guess what, They are way to long and have to be put almost into a kink in order to just get one line to work. I called and I could return them but I have to eat the shipping both ways. Went to the local hydraulic hose and bolt place which is kind of like Fastenal. Power steering hose ends for the pressure line are $15 each plus tax. Hose is close to $8 a foot. Plus there is a "new hose" fee of $15. So for one pressure hose about a foot long its going to be a minimum of $52, maybe a little if they charge for crimping the two ends.
