This really is one way to my house. If you had kept going you would have come in from the opposite direction of the way we came. I started to send you out that way but decide Amy would have given me crap about abusing the Blueberry. It is quicker to get back to Lebanon that way.

She likes her Blueberry but she's willing to take it off roading to have an adventure.

We was all over the place looking around that day. I just wish I would have took more pics.

We waited out the rain at a few places hoping it would roll through fast. It didn't, It seemed to get worse. Doug found us at a gas station but I wasn't sure what he was driving. We drove off but he caught up with us so we could follow him to his house.

By the time we hit Doug's place the rain had slowed down a bit. Pulling into Doug's driveway was like pulling into my dream home. Property sits perfect on a slight hill over looking NOTHING other than what God put there. No other houses in site. It is a nice place. The house is a log cabin which I'm nuts over. Doug my friend I hope you know how truely blessed you are. Meeting Vicky, his wife was nice. She seems really cool and down to earth.

We chatted a while before hitting the garage.

Doug I wish I could have stayed a little longer. I was so strung out from the road I wasn't with it much. Next time we need to go out and get some dinner and mess with the car some. Fact is I was beat. We was planning on heading towards AL but wasn't sure if I wanted too. We should have just hit the Lebanon hotel for 3 nights and took in everything around there. We could have hung out a little more and that way I wouldn't have been in such a rush.

We headed back to Lebanon to get a room for the night. They were having some kind of thing for the school and the hotels we stopped in were booked. No rooms. We messed around in town for a while trying to figure out what to do. Heading south wasn't something I wanted to do. I have been that way many times on that route and there is not much to see between the stretch. In the middle of night and it raining makes it worse for me.

We hit the road and started heading east. I didn't want to go home but we could not sit in the car all night trying to figure out what we was going to do.

We rolled through TN and back into Kentucky. I told Amy to pick where she wanted to go. Morehead, Ky Campbellsville, Ky or home. We didn't have to figure it out for a few hours but she fought with herself all the way to the exit. She then told me to take the Parkway right before we passed it.

Heading east on the Parkway was rough. My back was killing me and I needed some sleep. While I was driving Amy reached over to rub my back. I leaned up on the wheel and after she was done I remember her telling saying that I was tired. I didn't know how bad I looked until I seen this picture she took.

That's me on the steering wheel, rolling down the Parkway a 70 MPH.

We ended back up in Cambellsville. We grabbed a place to sleep next to the lake.

We slept in and didn't make the checkout oh well. lol I needed some Z's

That's a cool looking place.

We left out late but refreshed and ready to have some fun.

This cabin sits down by the lake and has a history all to it's own.


10 kids were born here. The owner raised all 10 in this cabin and one took it over after she got married. She had her vowels inside this cabin. They had over 10 slaves that worked the grounds back then. A list of ownership for the cows, horses and other live stock was found. Slaves were on the list and what each was worth. This family was well off for the times.
The war came through and it was used by the south as a hospital. All of this land in Cambellsville was a blooding battle ground for the north and south.

It was comfy. I told Amy that is where we will be staying next time too.

The old cabin was locked up but I walked up to the station and got the keys so we could go in a look around. More pics when I get time.

Steve, I really enjoyed your visit and wish it didn't have to be so short. Maybe you can make a return trip and we can get Sami on a horse. In the meantime I'll be working toward making the trip North.

If you were on the parkway, then you must of been somewhat close to me.

We was. I thought about that as I went by but it was really late.

The inside of the cabin was eye opening. It makes you think about how bad they had it when they were wounded. It's rough on me to see stuff like this. Even with that many years behind us I can still understand the pain that war put on everyone.

This lake is one of the reasons I like Cambellsville so much.

Before leaving Campbellsville we ate at the Chinese place. This is Amy and my favorite place to eat. The kids like feeding the fish before we take off.
