Re: 58' Impala Convertible Runs!!!
The car was shown and won trophies at the first 2 Cavalcade of Customs in 1960 and 1961
would u consider puting it back it say for the 2010 2011 shows 50 years later ?

Blue Ice
No, I would not consider putting her back in the Cavalcade Of Customs, 50 years later.
You know how I feel about showing a car, (at least I told you how I feel) when it is
not a Show Car. "Blue Ice" or "Miss Scarlet" are not Show Cars. They were not built to
be Show Cars. They were built to be Fun Cars. Plain and simple. But I appreciate you
thinking they are good enuff looking, to be Show Cars. I too had fun Kenny, going thru
the gears, with you by my side. You are a cool dude.

thank you
even if they are not show cars in your mind or anyone else's it 2 me would be like the 50Th cavalcade how many cars are from the first show more less winners that could have the privilege of being there yet again so many life times later .....dunno i think in 2 things a Lil deep sometimes

Re: 58' Impala Convertible Runs!!!
Cavalcade Of Customs has changed. There is still the 100 point show cars but last year thanks to Shaw we had a view of cars that were not perfect and stuff that is driven. They even had and old dusty car that looked like they drug it out of a barn and never cleaned it. It even had an old 60's trophy with cob webs on it. Daily drivers, Gassers and old 50's and 60's race cars that was less than show queens. Shaw's crew had 70 cars I think it was. It was the best Cavalcade Of Customs I've been too. Not saying much but the less than perfect cars had a group of people swarming in that area all day and I spent more time there than at the rest of the show. I think the days of trailer queen and 100 point show cars are a thing of the past at most of the shows we do.

Re: 58' Impala Convertible Runs!!!
I'm with Kenny and Steve. I think it would be fitting to have the car, 50 years later, at the Cavalcade. We know it's not a show car, but how many '58 Mild Custom Convertibles do you see anywhere. Original cars are nice and all, but people enjoy seeing somthing different. The car needs to be enjoyed by everyone. It's not the "Show Car Status" that counts, it's the look of the car. Everyone that see's this car go's on about it. Beside's, we might find someone that remembers the car or it's owner.
Josh Shaw is the guy that lettered my car about 4 years ago. He lives up around Milford Oh. and is one of the biggest names around this end of the Right Coast. He does striping, lettering, and flames for alot of big name people in the car world.

"Blue Ice"
You guys sure are persistent.
I suggest that first of all, "Blue Ice" needs to be finished,
before she can go off to The Cavalcade Of Customs, or anything else.
I'm not so sure, she will even be finished, by that time. If so, it remains
to be seen, what life holds in store. That's about all I can say at this time.
I will admit, that 50 years later, sounds cool.

Re: 58' Impala Convertible Runs!!!
Sounds like we might be breaking the ice (no pun intended) about getting the '58 into the public eye once again guys. Guess I'll be busy the rest of the year. Anybody want to work on getting my '51 motivational for the Cavalcade, so we can park back to back at the show! Better yet, The Scroungers need to have a display of iron layin' in the building!
