Re: 66 F250
Got the back of the cab painted and installed the bed tonight and its starting to look like a truck again, need to start thinking on what I am going to do about a tailgate. the original is too far gone and I got a 67 to 72 style that will bolt on but after blasted it might need as much work as the original so I need to start hunting on ebay to find a nice one from out west.

Re: 66 F250
I got back on it today and put some primer on the bed sides so time to start blocking and I hope to get some paint on it in a couple weeks.

You really do have umpteen projects going. I'm sure you can bribe the neighbors off with beer & bar-b-que but what about the codes people?

Re: 66 F250
Its back home now and starting to reassemble, had to order a bunch of small stuff from LMC tonight and looking for a reasonable sand blaster to blast 4 rims and two bumpers. Was going to powder coat those parts but a quart of paint will be much cheaper, this thing is fun to drive as the motor wants to go when the go pedal is pushed. I dont know what was done with the motor but I suspect it has a idle to 400 torque cam.

Re: 66 F250
Its starting to look like a truck now,got all the windows and vents back in the doors along with new channels and vent rubber which was a pain. Need to call the glass shop this and have them order me a windshield and see if they can get me a slider rear window,i am having a hard time finding a good used chrome front bumper so I will grab one out at Starks and have it and the step bumper blasted and I will paint them. I priced powder coating and will cost about 500 not including blasting so I will get a quart of argent silver and epoxy primer,I hope to be driving it in a few weeks and need to sell my beater truck so I can transfer the tags and insurance.

Re: 66 F250
Its back in the garage so I can weld a couple patches in the bed floor and then on to get a spray in bed liner,I was hoping to had that done by now but a drivability issue popped up from sitting too long. I should have the bed liner in it in a few weeks and then its ready to drive and over the summer I will get the wrap around step bumper ready to be installed.

Re: 66 F250
After a 300 mile trip I need to do something about that stiff suspension and try to squeeze a littlle more gas mileage out of that big block so some changes are coming next spring.

Re: 66 F250
I'm tellin' ya Jeff. Go to Pull A Part and get the springs, hangers and brackets off a late model. Maybe even pick up a higher gear. You can buy a complete rear end for what, $150.00? You got no shortage of torque. Maybe pick up a couple of mpg's. Maybe for the front end, coils out of an F-100 or 150?

Re: 66 F250
I am working on a deal for the complete suspension out of a 67 f100 with a set of aluminum wheels,I do not need the front suspension as I have a 78 that will donate those parts.
