1946 Chevy Stylemaster
As soon as i seen this across the street i had to have it. Not sure why just liked it. It was in rough shape. Still is today. I think it saw the street for a week or so. Dont remember. Probably a year or so before i bought a 88 s10 from reb. It was his brother in law's that just passed away. Steve had bought everything to put a v8 in it. When i bought the truck from him it all came in a package deal. I got headers, frame mounts, tranny cooler, oil filter relocator and so much more. I pulled the 4cy and was getting ready to put the v8 in it that and friend and i built. Well stewart came over and asked what i had to have out of it. My Wife ( the sweet heart that she is) told him that i have been wanting the 46 for a long time. He said well ill give you the 46 and the 47 Dodge ratrod for the truck the way it sat. We traded.

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
here it is sitting on cement blocks (the ky jack stand) at stewarts house.
So he had already pulled the org frame as you can see in the pic. He started welding up floors in it. He went to kenny chaulks for a s10 frame. Not to long after this is when i got it.
Now what have i done to it. Not much of anything. I have started to install a painless wiring kit.

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
My uncle lives in piner ky. about 30 minutes or so south. He is a car nut like the rest of us. He said i could bring the car out there and we would work on it. So a buddy of mine loaded it up and took it out there. I hardly got to go work on it. Had other cars in the garage behind the house. And my uncle was playing the field looking for a new girl. Well he found one. You know whats next. I had to find room for the car or send it to the crusher.
I made room and started working on old betsy.
on the passenger side kick pane. they had an old mt. dew tin sign. Stewart wasnt to happy that i cut part of it off to create a gauge cluster.
here it is with my gauges
screwed to the dash, you can also see the painless kit.
also bolted in my new tail lights that i bought last year.

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
not sure what you mean by pie cut but yes you can do anything to it. are you talking about c notches? so you can slam it? if I was you I would get the wheelbase and get another frame. it woule be easier that s10 frame is just not the right set up for it.

The price of scrap is pretty high.......................
Jeff needs a rat rod.........................
Vickers will need an old car now................
There's bound to be a few more possiblities...........
John B needs an old car to drive.............
Let me have the Falcon and make it a racer.................
Paint it BLUE, put a FoMoCo in it and make it worth a fortune, then sell it to the Dawg............
Get it going & put FLAMETHROERS on it and become a Star................
Man the list just keeps going...........

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
Who has a Falcon that needs to be turned into a race car???I know where one used to be, lost track of it after everyone lost intrest in it, and time became a premium luxury, and summer came and everyboby had other things going on.. Oh well winters is soon to be upon us, so maybe the garage dwellers will start to meet up again... I for one know I still need a bunch of work to do to my stuff, maybe cabin fever will set in and I can actually get to the garage, blow the cob-web's off some stuff and make some spark's...
Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
I need that Falcon with the axle, then I could run with the BSM and have a whole different altitude on life. I'm tired of bottoming out. Rolling low the old way maybe cool but it's rough row to hoe.

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
The problem with the falcon drag cars is its a ford and only a select few want to work on it . Because of the brand and the motor brand not all the chebby lovers are that way though but for the most part . They don't know what their missing it could be a fun car without a lot of work. Ryan donated his time and parts and his shop[ to get thiiis thing started and Jeff donated a motor and traney Doug gave floors and john gave us parts before he knew us and has plegged a windshield for it As for myself i have time in it along with doug, dennis d. reb, jeff, cole.correy, chadd and ryan did i leave anyone out? I thought we were going to run this thing this past summer but no it sat and drew cobwebs!! If its not going to be be built them let someone in the club have it that wants to make something out of it . Its suppose to be a club project. Where's the club i guess its about like trying to get together for a club outing it just don't happen sure you get a few but if theirs no glory or fun it don't happen. You got to go through the thorns to find the rose!!! This is for everyone myself included!! :pirat: :pirat:

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
It is sitting in the extra garage in Newport. I'm paying the rent out of my pocket as well as still buying small stuff for it when the price is right. I would love to have the space for my own car if you want to know the truth. I'm hoping we can get it going by spring and get it titled so we can use it. It sure is not doing anyone any good where it's at. All the griping is pointless to me because we could have had it going this summer. Ryan and I spent a lot of time by our selves working on the car when we first got her. As soon as the cold starts to where we can't get out we need to start on her again. It wouldn't take much to get her going under her own power.

BSM ? SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I hear they're like the Mason's or other secrect organizations, I think I've said to much already.. And its not who you roll with that gives you a different attitude on life, it's how you live it.

Re: 1946 Chevy Stylemaster
Riggs has been trying to sell it and even dropped the price way down trying to get rid of it. It was in his way and was a rust bucket but even with that the VIN and title was worth the asking price. He even tried to give it away to a guy but no such luck. So within a year it may be someones new Toyota after it's recycled.
