'47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
As the title states, it appears that Gauge's "Pedal Car" '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster is out of commission until we can locate a new axle.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
Too may burnouts? There may be one up at Starks. I'll be heading up there soon. I'll see if they have one. Kenny Schaulk has a car but he was wanting to sell the whole thing back when I ask him. He may part it by now though.

There are about 20 of them at Starks scattered all over.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
Thank you sir!
Riding in the "pedal car" is one my three year old sons favorite activities. As a matter of fact, the axle shaft broke in Kincaid Lake State Park on the way to the playground. I drive it as much as possible.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
Not 100% sure... Per Chevs of the 40's, 1937-54 have the same bearings, seals, gaskets, ring, pinion, fill, etc., but they do not sell axle shafts. I assume that the '49 axle shaft would fit the '47 since other parts are interchangable, but would have to measure to make sure.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
Did you already buy the one axle? I was going to leave the rearend in Bertha so I can move it around but we can working something out if you need it.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
Yes, I ordered the axle last Tuesday night. It was supposed to ship last Wednesday. I appriciate the offer!
I wouldn't mind owning Bertha, I like the '49-'54 body style and I could probably dig up a motor that would fit in it. On the other hand, I am sure that it is out of my price range.

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
If you are going to keep the original drive line I would recommend finding spare parts so the down time wont be very long, one of the new spring shackles on the 37 fell off who knows how long ago and I still had the originals in the garage so it was a easy and quick fix.

The stainless "belt line" trim is good, but the rest is "driver" at best. What do you have?

Re: '47 Chevrolet Stylemaster
heres the 7 pieces that im certain that came from the 46
fourth one down is in pretty bad shape. (not fixable at all in my opinion)
fifth one down has a very small spot that is fixable, has a dent over in the corner
