Well, the truck has been slow going for a bit. I finally got the carb rebuilt and the new and bigger fuel line ran, fuel pump/filter mounted and got the sending unit the other day for the tank. It's all ready to install tonight along with the new brakes because it sat so long before John got it and they rusted up, so I went ahead and got replacements. Will post pics of the truck later but below is a taste of what my buddy Shannon is going to do to it. And just for clarification, the paint work on the bumpers and lights on the pedal car, yeah, he did all that too.

And for some reason, he insists on wearing the helmet even after he gets off the bus!!!

No pics yet. Not much changed accept for polishing the wheels, new exhausts, copper fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel tank, brake work and now trying to figure out the power loss issue at warm temps. Called the PO yesterday and got all the rest of the info and details with the motor/trans. The motor has approx 20k miles, heads about 2 hours and the trans rebuild is freshly done with shift kit. The cam is 284/284 with 11:5 compression pistons, conditioned rods, crank and basically the rest is stock. After I get it running decently, then I will start to work on the truck itself and get some pics lined up.

So.... I am getting so flippin frustrated with this truck!!! Not bashing John because I think he would have told me if he knew but this thing has caused much more of a headache than what I was wanting! I don't even have 50 miles on this thing since I got it because it can't be driven for a long distance with out having something happening. And being that my wife and I are loosing the business and don't have the money to put into it, it's going up for sale and will go to the Springfield Swap Meet also. So if you know anyone that has knowledge of these motors and wants a nice truck that has a practically new motor, let me know.

11.5 to one compression says race gas so no way can it be a daily driver,I might be interested in it since I have a low compression 460 that needs to go in something so PM me with what you want for it.

Thanks Jeff for the offer but at this point, I don't want to part it out. I just want to get rid of the complete truck. That's funny that you quoted the compression, because that's exactly what the builder said it was.

I think he asking for a price on the whole thing, as he has a 460 that he could drop in her to make it "drivable" and use the 429 in another toy, or look at it.... Very Happy

Let me know what you want it,I would either sell the motor or use it for a race car. The 460 I have runs on regular and with that much compression you wont find any pump gas that it wil run good on.
