Re: Bread & Butter 27 Ford Project
I worked on the trim piece for the windshield last night. I have about 3/4" gap between the windshield and the post. The post is hollow so I can't put a rubber strip on it for a filler. I made a piece of trim out of some soft pine last night. The post has a goofy contour to it on one side. I worked and worked on it trying to get it perfect. After getting close and thinking about having to make another one I pitch the idea and figured I was over thinking it. So I grabbed another piece and fired up the saws. I got it really close. Close enough that I was sanding the wood to poly it. I stuck it up to the car and took a good look.
It looked like crap!
After looking at it for about 30 minutes I came to realize I really don't care if it has a filler piece in it or not. The windshield is always going to be kicked open and with it in there it looks like I'm trying way too hard. It's staying the way it is!

Looks like it's getting time to do a little work on this buggy. It will be slow for now but I'm going to hit it hard right after Christmas.

I don't have much luck collecting my bets from other club members when we do that. It's not from me loosing either.

Was just wondering about this build last night. Hey at least your toys are in the same state that you are. I'm not that lucky yet.

You should have popped in at the meeting. You could have taken home the long haul award.Chris55 wrote:I'm up here now, and damn it's cold.
You picked the coldest day to come up Chris.

Thought about stopping in, but it had been a long drive. As far as the timing goes, the house where the shop is got broken into for a second time and they almost made it through the door in the shop. So I'm up to clean out the shop, and haul at least the 55 home. Might try to get the 47 home to but not sure. (It's in a safe place at least) Gona be a lot of fun in this Ohio spring weather.....lol
