Nope. It's a different motor that he's putting in his 66 truck. This one's sort of a spare or extra or ......hell I don't know.

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
OK guys lets put our collective minds together, search in the far reaches of the dusty dank garages, the lonely alley's around town and see what kinda cars/bodies we can scare out of the brush..I'm gonna make a call and see what I can scare up..
What I have to offer is
1. 40 Chev Pick-up CAb (no doors)
2. 48 Ford F-1 Bobber stlye truck (have to check with my partner...
I'm leaning toward Steve's alley find...
anybody else have any ideasz?????
That wagon would be cool too...

i was talking to stewart yesterday. that 50's chevy around the corner has sat there for 5 or more years. ive never seen the guy work on it. it might be touchable but im thinking more of the lines of 2-5K. i could possible be wrong. Stewart is this the same guy thats got that black s10 with a v8 in it. he had a monte or cutlass a couple years ago with a nice paint job on it??

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
Jr Ard is the guy you are talking about. the guy that owns the old chevy is Jr's cousin.JRiggs wrote:i was talking to stewart yesterday. that 50's chevy around the corner has sat there for 5 or more years. ive never seen the guy work on it. it might be touchable but im thinking more of the lines of 2-5K. i could possible be wrong. Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
*********
one thing I want everyone to know that gets involved with the 1/4 mile car is???:
1. the car will belong to the club.
2. anyone can help out on the car. if you don't want to be part of this . no big deal. if you do, great
3. we have all winter to get the car done. no set work session. when you want to wrench . go at it.
4. THIS IS THE BIG ONE** Do not donate parts that you want to keep. all parts donated to the race car becomes property of the car club. only donate parts that you can afford to let go. we have enough resources that one person shouldn't have to spring for a lot of stuff by himself. The (HA/GR) Rail's downfall was letting everyone take their donations back after it was almost built. Then talk of selling it because of the money some members had in it and wanting to get their money back in their pockets.
THE CAR WILL BELONG TO THE CLUB. all parts work time and everything involved with the car will be a club investment.
The reason for the push to get a car? some of us have been talking and by the looks of this thread others think it's a good idea too. there was talk of hauling whats left of the HA/GR down here to get it finished but after the chapter split some of the guys are seeing a line across the Ohio river. not sure what thats all about but I'm not going to let it hold us back from having some fun...

I've got a 56 customline that I want to sell. I'm suppose to get an engine and tranny from a friends 78 cutlass. He would probably sell the car.
