MORNING VIEW, Ky. -- A man is injured after being dragged behind a Junior Drag car for a short distance at Thornhill Dragstrip Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Kenton County Police, a 22-year-old male track employee grabbed onto the car while it was having throttle issues. It was then the car kicked into gear, police said.

The employee suffered a head injury and was transported by AirCare to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say AirCare was a precautionary measure, given the nature of the injury and the track's distance from the hospital.

The employee was alert and talking when they flew him from the scene.

The driver of the car, a 7-year-old girl, was not injured, as she was fully harnessed and wearing safety equipment, police said.

I bet he is counting his blessing about right now. Tomorrow he will be pretty sore. I'm trying to figure out what he was thinking when he grabbed a hold of that small drag car. But then again he was at the track and I wasn't. He may have seen something that was causing the issue. Who knows....
