Right in my own back yard
My two dogs got out and was missing for 3 days. For 3 days that is all I did was look for these crazy dogs. That is a huge story by itself but only thing that matters is I did find them. Miles away in another city. Anyway I have woods on both sides of me that run for miles. You have to remember that I moved back here a year ago but this was my parents property. I grew up here and have been all over these woods. SO I THOUGHT. First day I followed the river and flat land north trying to pick up their trail. The ground was frozen so hard it was no way to see anything fresh. I did see some old rock foundations from the old settlement that was here 100's of years ago.
Second day I went south down the river. I have been up that way a few times on foot and many by boat. This time was a little different.

Re: Right in my own back yard
There are barns and pole buildings all over. All have fallen in and rotted away years ago. this one had me dreaming. First I seen the tractor.
After climbing around a bit you can see what is in the garage. Look really hard. See the grille?
Most of the pole building has crush it and years of leave and dirt now cover a 1961 Chevy Impala. Dreams of a 348 popped into my head but after digging through some of the crap it was a no go

I'm glad you got your hound dogs back. Looks like you better put up some fence or not leave them alone out side. Looks like someone was into Mopars years ago.

Re: Right in my own back yard
Not on my land. They are about half mile away. Doug they were behind a 4 foot fence. My porch has doors on both side I left one door open so they could get on the enclosed porch. The outer door latch didn't latch and I guess the wind blew it open. It was a crazy 3 days. I still don't get why they went that far. I have never had any other Chow that would run off like them. She's getting ready to come into heat. The animal catcher told me that may have been why. Not really sure. Still crazy to me. I went out late last night and gave them a big pan of left overs. They are still eating like pigs. I guess being out on their own they finally know what it feels like to be hungry. lol
