Going to look at a 69, dude has owned it 17 years, hasn't driven it 3 or 4 years, 351W, now C4, is a 4 speed car.....I will post up pics tomorrow, what is a GOOOD 1969 worth?? I know at one time, they were, and still seem to be selling higher than heck......was told if I went and look, I would buy it.....my buddy turned me on to it.....we'll see....

Re: 1969 Mustang Fastback GT 351 W 4 speed
Bottom fell out of all the Mustangs. Unless you have a fastback or a Shelby they are not selling. fastback are not doing too good and even the high collectibles like Shelby's are not selling like they use to.
As for my personal thoughts. I never liked a 69 'Stang. I think they are the ugliest mustang they ever made. I'd rather have a Mustang II King Cobra as to a 69.

I'm still looking for that dream, 67 or 68 fastback. Those are the only ones I'd spend too much money on.

I've seen it. A couple times. It's not junk. Could be a nice car with a little TLC. He won't give it away though. Good luck!

Rich Kiss came over this afternoon, was here about 30 minutes, popped in the rear glass, so I am water tight, couldn't even set it out to clean the shop unless it was a clear day...

Man, that is so cool to see this 'stang come back to life! What's story on the carb? You said it was junk. Also, I take it the Shelby gauges came with it? Nice addition there...

That's cool! Glad the motor is not in need of a bottom end rebuild as the seller thought it might be. Now who's going to call him and break the news?

Re: 1969 Mustang Fastback GT 351 W 4 speed
If my memory serves me, I believe the GT model production #'s for 1969 was not very high, meaning compared to Mach I's there were a whole lot fewer GT's than there were Mach I's..... even though they are the same body code, they are considered a different model, and depending on the collector, their values are usually higher than a Mach I. Not as flashy, but more sought after by certain collectors because of the rarity. The interiors are generally not as glitzy- more black camera case type finish compared to the woodgrain of the Mach. Usually no console, plain steering wheel, just not as "done up" as a Mach, but definitely a keeper if you can find one...... let me know if you need any parts, after doing my 2 Mach I's, I got lots of stupid trinket parts kickin' around. You got a pretty good find there. And by the way, one of mine was off the road for 26 years before I finished it.... that car is a member of the family- will probably have to find a casket for it! My family has owned it for 34 years.

DD is right...the '69 GTs are indeed a fairly rare breed and some do command a higher premium depending on color and options.

Took the old fuel tank/send unit out, and pulled the carb, gotta get the fuel system good, should have it done by the end of the week....so I can move on to the the insides the have it spotted in and by spring....drive the wheels off of it....been a busy day...but a GOOD day!

I'd say "yuck", but that's not nearly severe enough to state what that looks like! A steam jenny would be a good start, along with lots of lacquer thinner. Good luck, and we all wish you the best.
