Re: T Modified on the cheap!
13 hours in and still metal finishing.... It's taking an hour a leaf on the springs but moving along..They will be smooth as glass when finished...WTF I'll probably end up wraping them in cloth tape(old roundy rounder trick) and will never be seen, but at least I will know they look tit's! NUF said back to grinding!

Re: T Modified on the cheap!
I just gave a short shaft and a long shaft to a buddy. The shorty was only good for the tail shaft and housing. It was full of water when it was given to me.
I do know of another short shaft, but he wants $100.00 for it condition unknown.

I saw that I'm looking for a 50's early 60's boat anchor..not sure why I want a beat down obsolete engine, like I don't have enough headache's going on here... But the way my money seems to just fly out of my hands the ole' 305 might just make it in there yet..
Re: T Modified on the cheap!
I still have that 350 tranny in my choptop if you can wait a little bit and give me a hand when it comes time to pull the motor and tranny out then you can just come and get it.

Re: T Modified on the cheap!
ok after spending yesterday making a jig and tacking it up to the rear with the spring perches attached..I did the almost impossible task, taking a model a spring from at rest 38"'s and streached it to 46" eye to eye with out the aid of a spreader bar..(this secret will be given at the next secret meeting of the troll's under the bridge)by myself..Got everything set and true tacked and mounted and I totaly hate the look.. I'm torn do I Z the frame another 8" or do I spend the same amount of time and make behing rear spring mounts...Anyway I spent the afternoon at Wade's Hot Rod Shop, and Shaw Pin Striping and Vintage Sprint Car Shop open house and left with a new outlook on this. These guys are some true craftsmen, there was probably 60 to 100 cars coming and going at any given moment(Lot's of Magazine featured cars) and even some of the CINCY STREET RODDER'S Showed up yhea!.. I would have let everybody in on this but I did'nt even know about it till I pulled in.. I talked to Josh a few times this week and he told me to come up and grab a burger and a pop so I could pay him for some tire's but never mentioned a word of the open house...Any who it was a good time oh and one more thing "I FREAKING HATE MOCK UP STAGE"..(kidding I love it, it makes me furious at moments but when it all falls into place its beautiful also one set of hands only goes so far)....If I ever get the motivation I will post some pic's, been a long (BEEP) day already, I'm beat and it's MILLER TIME!
Re: T Modified on the cheap!

Re: T Modified on the cheap!
Rear rims cleaned and primed ,rear tires mounted, mounted.Rear Kick up, removed, rebuilt ,cut up , re-did, rewelded , re mounted again...Look's better..(Rear kick up I had originally was going to be about 16/18 inches' redesigned it now more like 10" better all the way around, other than that same old ile of junk taking up space).. I should just sell all this no good junk I own and take up golf......
