Re: 339 cu. in. chevy
Seems to work that way.......
π r² h = Volume of a cylinder
π = Pi =3.14159
r² = Radius squared
h = Height
4.075 /2 = 2.0375 Radius
X 2.0375 Radius =
4.15140625
X 3.14159 Pi =
13.04201636
X 3.25 Height =
42.38655317 Volume of one cylinder
X 8 Number of cylinders =
339.0924254 Cubic Inches

Yeah, I think that's been pretty much proven for quite a while.

OK, I'll ask. What is the significance of 339 cubic inches? I must be missing something and I can't figure out what it is.

That's the size stroker kit you use on a small block Ford to get to 331 CID. It's supposed to be a pretty good combination. I don't know about those SBC's, I just know the math.

Re: 339 cu. in. chevy
You Betcha. A 60 over 327 is truly a hair over 336. I know, cause I bulit one. It's in my 75 Camaro with a Turbo 400, and turns 8.18 in the 1/8 mile at 87.64 miles an hour. Not bad for a 3600 pound car with full interior. Anyhow, Just wanted to drop a line, let everyone know I am Still alive, and kicking. Cleaning up the shop, and getting ready to start on the next project. Anyhow, I'll try to do better and posting. Best wishes to one and all.

Yeah, what he said. The Car Craft pictures I posted were only about 35 years old, how about some less than a year old?

He's building a pretty wild early Camaro. The build should be really good.
