Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
Can ya mount that box on the back and make it an inclosed hauler and set it up to haul cars or stuff, or make it a really slick camper? There was a fellow out west that had one with the angled ramp and a sleeper. The area under the ramps was where he of course stored tools and camping equipment and then he and his wife stayed in the sleeper. It was a really cool rig to haul his 40 Ford on. You could haul Tate's aound for him because when he gets that thing of his welded back together, he won't be able to afford gas (if there is any).

Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
Spent the day re-loading the stuff I want to keep, BACK in the box, also set the box on blocks....I threw a bunch of Mustang crap away!!! The truck quit running a year ago, I thought it was the fuel pump, so Tommy boy took one out of one of his junk cars, with a good motor, and rigged it in the tank, and it fired right up!!! but also found I burned a hole in a steel brake line, put some trans fluid in, and drove it around front..............Life is good!!!
Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
what day can we come up for the dash or do ya need to keep it mobile til ya rip the cab off the frame? either way is fine with us...no hurry but we definately want it when your ready...me and steve was wondering if you was gonna put the box to good use or scrap it

Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
I can always weld a bar on to hold my column up and in.....shouldn't be an issue.....rather you have the parts you need......soon the cab is all gone....sooner I can start.....
Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
I saw this picture and thought maybe you were out cruising in your COE. I figured you've owned it long enough to have it done. The yellow looks pretty nice but I think some air horns on the top and some west coast mirrors would be a welcome addition. The Magicman would know more about style for the big trucks.

Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
You right Doug...I am that good, but only gathering parts and info, gotta finish the Banger, The 66 Fastback (now back in the shop) and mama's 59 Apache...then, and ONLY then, starting on the COE....Plus squeeze in mama's 57 Chev (bolt all the stuff back on) and get my 69 AMX painted, and "pretty" it up, , good news, I plan on living another 50 years or so......
Re: 1948 Ford COE Project Bull Dog
Well you know John some of us don't need 50 years to get one done.

Looks sweet, I love those old bigger trucks like that.
If ya ever need an extra hand lifting, install motors, whatever, just hollar. I've like 15 mins from Trenton, evenings, weekends, whatever, just yell.
