Stolen 55 Chevy found after 26 years
Very cool story. I had to share.
Steve
BENTON, Ky. —
A Chevy Bel Air has been returned to a western Kentucky man 26 years after it was stolen.
Marshall County resident Herbert Boren purchased the 1955 two-door hardtop vehicle in the early 1960s for $65, but it was later stolen from his driveway.
WPSD-TV reports the vehicle was returned this week after Boren's sons, Randy and Jason Boren, heard about a 1955 Bel Air for sale in Benton.
Randy Boren said he was thinking of buying it, but when he saw the car, he recognized it and called his father.
They called police, who verified the VIN number matched the vehicle in the original police report.
Kentucky State Police and Benton police say they are investigating to determine who originally stole the car, which was still in good condition.

Bet he thought it was crushed or in parts all over the place. Cool story, wonder if he's driving the wheels off of it? I would be!

I am suprised the numbers were not changed and its good to hear someone getting their car back, now if they can figure out just who stole it.

Amazing, a friend had his 442 stolen and when they found it it was just a stripped down unusable shell.
