Re: Photo of the day
I worked on this Astro van, guy lived off 35 in Dayton. I helped him pulled drivetrain so he could retore. He moved to Cali and I never knew what happened after that.
This was it when it was originally built, really went down hill

Re: Photo of the day
DOH!!! Guess I clean snow next time instead of just driving on it and packing it which turns to ice.
Not enough speed going up the hill, started sliding, I tried to power though it, then it just jumped sideways and bam. Tried to back down, but too far in the snow bank. Took 20 mins of digging, chipping, shoveling gravel, oh and a little tire smoking, but got it out.

Re: Photo of the day
Our first snowfall here got packed just like you said. But it melted away, and now we have light dry snow that sweeps away easily without effort, so that isn't a problem. It's been cold here, and with lakes erie and ontario without ice, hits Western ny with lake effect snow- but only in key areas. We aren't in that area. We have a couple inches here, but 25 miles northwest there is 20 +, and 35 miles northwest there is 40+ inches of snow. We get our share of pictures and situations like you see above, and occasionally I get that with the plow truck. Fortunately, I have never been stuck so bad that 10 minutes of shoveling and some ashes and/or kitty litter didn't get me out. Long wheelbase trucks suck for plowing. Maybe I can contribute to "POTD" with this winters' antics. Either with wheels, or with snowmobiles- our trails open next Wednesday. I'm not real enthused this year, the last 3 years we have worked our tails off getting things ready, and we set parked all winter, and tear it all down come April.

No, pic is deceiving, tree is about 4 feet away from car. No damage other than my pride.
Drive was even slicker this morning after the rain, Backing down with Tahoe in 4x4, slid sideways once I back down over top, nothing I could do, no damage.

If there's anything bigger than a caterpillar in the road, that boy's gonna have some 'splainin to do.
I do think he's gonna have to dig a hole to get outta that thing.

That's the one, and I knew where most of those cars were setting to. By the way, that's the same steering wheel I had on my 71 Chevelle back in high school. She was a handful with a built 402, reverse manual valve body turbo 400, and a 4:11 12bolt with a spool, ahh the fun of youth.

Re: Photo of the day
A couple guys up here in NY are resurrecting a nomad that used to prowl the area in the early 70's. Stopping by occasionally, I can tell you they could have made out well with a straight shell. They spent weeks getting the front and center posts square and tru with the front frame. It is probably much straighter now than it was when it left the factory. Of course, the periodic trip (wobble-pop induced) thru the ditches and puckerbrush of the roadsides probably didn't help it any either.

Re: Photo of the day
They are working their tails off on it. A door, rockers, body supports and floor. Last time I was there they had kite string running along the body lines top and side. They are looking for a front clip. One of the fellows is the owner had it in the early 70's, and I think he has kept it all these years. I have owned my Mach I since 80, so he's got me beat by 10 years at least. It's tough to keep them that long, but satisfying when they are back together and back on the road again. Looking to see what they end up with.
