Family mini get away.

I'm so far behind on the truck due to the heat wave I knew I would be in the garage every chance I get for a while. I figured I'd take off to see if we could get lost together and to take in some nice family time.
We started out down AA highway. Down around Maysville, Ky we seen this at our first gas stop.

We were now getting into the hills of Kentucky as we rolled on down the road. The views here are not any better unless you hit some parts of TN. The old ride in front of us was better than following a dump truck too.

On down the road we came across this little farm. The guy sells some parts and cars but his stock only changes once every 10 years or so.

Down the road we seen this 'Stang sitting in front of this very nice spread.
We creeped up the drive to look at the property and this was sitting next to the house.

We had no plan or a place to go. If it looked like something interesting would be down the road we would take it.

By this time the temp was over 100 degrees. You would stop and roll the window down and it would suck the energy out of you. We hit the open road with the AC on hi.

We took a left on a road and head north towards Ohio. We found a bridge and jumped across to the Buckeye State.
It's not often you run across moving trains as you blast down the highway. I like trains.

The Ohio side of the river, boring. Nothing to look at other than Ohio State troopers clocking people as I tried to get off the gas. As we headed east I was on the lookout for a place to get back across the river. Cops are not as bad in the Blue Grass State.

I have been to Ashland, Ky many, MANY times! I was always on the other side of town. I had no idea they had all these old building and some much stuff going on. It's crazy to think how many times I rolled through here and didn't know all this was just on the other side of town.

We are in the bible belt of Ky. I use to see this as a kid but you don't see it anymore. This preacher was on the street corner preaching. It was 105 degrees outside! That's what you call faith!

We were getting hungry and found a KFC with a buffet. They lost their profits when we walked in. While we were eating you could see different hot rods cruising by. It was pretty cool. After we over ate we peek through some alleys and side streets just to look around.

This dude was big. Almost 3' long.
What do you do with a fish that big? (poke it with a stick) Yea I'm a little kid at heart.
With a splash and a scream from Sami it took off.
I'm not sure if Sami thought it was going to jump out and bite her or what but it was funny.
