Yeah. He may get it with the circle he runs with. He has enough money in that beater he could have bought a 100 point show truck and had money left over. Must be nice to have deep pockets. Bunch of yuppies!jbs10 wrote:see how much

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
He spent over $8000.00 just in the motor. Not the truck the engine! I could have built a nice hot rod for less than $8K. Most of the truck is new parts from LMC. Their is nothing wrong with the truck. It's cool. I just don't see spending that kind on money to build a beater. Even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't. He more than likely has close to $20K in the build. He rented a garage to build the truck in. It looked like a mini warehouse. Like I said the truck is cool but he's not a hot rodder in my eyes. Let him hit all the junk yards searching, take his money tree away and then let him build something with his own two hand instead of buying every single little piece and then lets see what it looks like. It's on the chopping block already to be sold. He just got it finished. It seems more like a rich kid engulfing his ego than a guy being a hot rodder.

If I were going to spend that much money I would buy a restored original and do some changes.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
I cleaned up the garage and moved the 27 to the smaller bay. I'm hoping to get Johnny to tow the 54 down here when the mud dries up at the property. It's a mud pit and muddy wheels coming off that steep hill with a truck and trailer pushing you is not a fun thing.
It won't be a mad rush to get it built but at least it will be here and I can work on it when I have some extra time.

The truck is back in my garage here at the house. Not in a hurry to knock it out. Just needed it moved off the property now that the land is going up for sale. At least I can piddle around with it if I'm bored. Thanks Johnny for the tow.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
lol . I have been swamped. I haven't even walked in the garage. They swore in Tom Collins in as Chief of Police tonight so I went there to support him on that. It's a good thing. Any time we can have a police chief that is a gearhead is a good thing. He has some nice hot rods and if he has time you can find him at Thornhill Drag Strip on Saturday nights. I'll post pics if I do anything to the truck. Maybe get an hour or two in tomorrow.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
All I can say is wow. The truck had a Mopar engine in it. You know better than me using NOpar so the crazy looking frame mounts had to go.
The guy I got it from tried hard to have something but it wasn't in the cards for him. I'll give him an A for effort but if the Mopar motor was anything hot it would have ripped these mounts out the first time he hit the go pedal.
