Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
Riggs I know this is hard to believe but I forgot the camera. It has been a crazy couple of days around here and my mind was elsewhere. I'm not sure if Johnny snapped any or not. I don't think so. We were busy working down there.JRiggs wrote:untill we see pictures this didnt happen lol.....

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
Steve you are getting a little collection of unfinished projects,we are not getting any younger and they seem to take much longer to get togather these days. Hate to see you get burnt out with all you have to do,when I get the 66 back togather I am done for awhile and just want to drive them for a few years before taking on any more major projects. I thought the bronco would be finished by now but still have a little more to do and I was wanting to get the 66 togather before summer but might take longer so I dont get burnt out.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
Jeff I'll be the first to admit that I don't need another project. There is a reason for us getting the truck. If not I would have never started another project. Another thing is I have always wanted one. I looked for a long time but everything I seen that I could afford was junk. This truck is not perfect but it's better than any of the others I have seen for that price. As for getting burned out? I won't. It's a hobby. It's what I do for fun. If it's not fun I won't do it. I have been wrenching on cars since I was 15 years old and never stopped. I enjoy it.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
All my projects are starting to take a toll on my finances along with the high cost of gas and everything else,I thought selling the wagon would be more then enough to finish the 66 and bronco but that money is gone and need to look for more stuff to sell to keep going. I love doing what I do but the cost is no starting to make me think about downsizing what I have or stop getting more projects for a couple years so I can replenish my savings. I dont know how you are able to finance your projeccts but its starting to cause me some concern.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
As far as projects/hot rods go.. They are never done no matter what. But my 27 will be running and road worthy before it leave the garage.. Just my 2 cents worth.
I like the truck and we needed it very bad. It still can't have my space in the garage yet.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
No set plans yet. The truck will need gone through and see what all has been done, if the stuff was done right or not. If not then whatever is wrong will come back off to be fixed right. Way too early in the project to know for sure what it will come out like for sure.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
I have been collecting a few parts for the shop truck. When we went to to the Louisville, Ky swap meet we found a new windshield for it. I bought a set of shorty headers from Riggs that I'm hoping will fit. Should not be too much longer and this one will get some work done to it. I'm looking forward to this project. I've wanted one for years.

Re: Stewart's 1954 Chevy Shop Truck
This guy in Clay City is something else. I have been emailing him about parts. He priced me some stuff I need and I told him I was coming from 2 hours away to get it. His reply was you are driving that far for parts? I told him yes and I'd be there Saturday just give me a time and address. He won't send me his address. Not sure why he'd post stuff for sale if he doesn't want to give out his address.

1 Speedo. Has to be for a 54 47 to 53 won't fit.
2 Inner trim piece that goes around the door glass on the drivers side.
3 Trim around the windshield on the inside. 54 55 1st series trucks only. 47 to 53 won't fit.
4 Glove box door.
5 Chrome cover for ash tray
I'm sure there is plenty more.

Because it's all about the journey, not the destination.
