well just got back from fairfield man what a drive. got a radiator pretty sure its a four core not certain on how to tell its almost 3 inches wide where as the one i have in the car now is a inch and a eighth pretty sure thats why it was getting hot , got a fan shroud a original overflow bottle the air cleaner base and lid with the piece that goes inside the fender and two inside back window trim pieces for a 350 tranny i had sitting under my back deck for a yr. I feel bad taking advantage of the young kid but when i got there the air was filled with weed and he was stoned out of his head, There is still more up there back window, both door windows all the outside trim the heater core two doors driver is in good shape pass is a little rough, shaker hood front nose piece off a 77 steering wheel dash trim, leather seats with good springs but were all ripped up, and a set of 8 inch snowflakes, he had lots more but we had the twins out in the car with jo and it was hot so kinda went through it fast, steve he is supposed to text me tom with a price for the nose and hood and he is gonna look for the steering colum said he should have it, he also had two shakers but both of them were destroyed

If you take the radiator cap off and look inside you will see the small holes that let water through the radiator. If you can't see them then use your fingers to feel them. They are in a row crossways. if there are 3 in a row it's a 3 core if it has 4 in a row it's a 4 core. Only turbo cars had 4 core from the factory. If it's a 77 -78 it's a 3 core unless it's been replaced. No turbo cars where produce in those years. 4 cores are very hard to come by. I use to have a stash of them but have use them all up in the last 20 years on the F bodies I have had.

I don't think you took advantage of the kid. If he needed a trans then it's a good deal.

That shroud will brobably help as much as the four core. You can't have too much cooling though.

plugs gaps at 60 on a Pontiac from the factory. If you are running cheap stuff, wires, stock coil ect I would close the gap to 50 to 55. If you have upgraded with good wire and ignition stuff then keep it at 60. That's the way I always did mine.

I don't think it's in the plugs though. Sounds like you have the timing off. Try to turn the dizzy a little. You may also have a bad carb or a mixture of the two.
