I am officially jealous! As most of you already know, the 1949-1954 Chevrolets are my favorites. I agree with RebStew, a two door car is a much nicer vehicle than a four door, but two door fleetline is next to impossible to find unless you can knock off beaner. I need to stop down and take a closer look...excellet choice for a daily!

Only reason I would delete anything off the forum would be to clean it up so other are not offended. I very seldom ever delete stuff. Deleting Jeff and my post was out of respect because it had went to far. We talked through PM's and it was settled. My problems with Jeff is between us, so why bring it up. As for this being my world it's not. This forum belongs to the club and we let outsiders in some parts to let them see what we are doing and to be a part of some things. It's a benifit we give friends. If you are not then why log on here? I have a great life and the club is a big part of it because I enjoy it. If you don't want to be affiliated with the Scroungers then why come onto our site? The whole point of you writing anything is to try to get kicked off the forum so you can whine to everyone about getting kicked off. I'm not sure why you have to have the drama to keep you happy but speaking for myself, not the club I think it's been pretty good since you have been gone. I don't hear all the whining and gossip that you were spreading to everyone on a daily basis.
Just for the record anything else you have to say put it some place other than on my progress page. You want to start a gripe thread, then do so. You can whine all ya want to there. Any other post on this thread unless it's about Big Bertha will be moved. Wink

She did really well. Had to get a jump one time but I think that was my fault. I think I bumped the ignition after turning it off and left it on, running the battery down.

I drove Big Bertha up to Harrison Ohio today. I guess it was my fault on the dead battery in Morehead, Ky. Still not sure what I did. It would have had to be the ignition switch, that is a little funny or I left the door open leaving the light on to run her down. Seems to be working fine now. cheers

I would lean more towards the door being open, or possibly a loose terminal connection or ground. If you had left the ignition switch in the run position you would have likely fried the points. Or it could have just been a gremlin. Haha...

The old owner had taken the lens out and pulled the interior light bulb. They left the buld sitting in the lens and put the lens back on. When I took it off and seen it there I just put it back in the socket and it worked so I left it in. That may have been why they took it out. Idea

I am not knocking the car. The guy does have talent. It looks great. He did that pretty fast too. I was planning on painting the 49 white untill I seen it. I'm not sure why but I just don't like the white on that car. Maybe it needs a flaked roof or something. I don't know. At least the car went to someone that can do good work. There are a few I built years ago that I cringe when I see how they look now. I really dig the skirts.

Does it have a 216 and 3 speed or 235 and p/g,the ones with a p/g had a 235 dipper motor which looks like a 216 and I am looking for one to convert to inserts and full pressure and make it look like a 37 216 if the 235 in my 37 would take a dump.

Yhea he had a LOT of help on the car did a fair amount him self also.. Yhea even if I would have done everything to the car he did, I still would have kept the original color, just cause you don't see many that color anymore, red whit black seems to be the going colors on them here lately....

It's got the slugish 216 in her. It would run okay if it had a better highway gear but with the 411 in it it's not going anywhere over 60 MPH without pushing the engine really hard.

A T-5 with a 55-7 rear end with 3.55 to 3.73 gears would help it out alot, might be hard to install a 5 speed in a car since I dont think it has a removable floor above the trans. Powerglide rear ends were about 3.55 but there is a diference in torque tube lengths.

It does have the removable floor panel. I thought about a rearend swap and overdrive set up but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle untill I know if this 216 will run for a while. It would make driving alot easier for sure.
