when i put on the electric fuel pump and wired to the fuse box. i hooked it up to the wrong fuse. an very easy fix it turns on and off with a switch now.......

anyone ever put a carb on backwards lol, welp somehow i did that would explain why the throttle linkage was on the passenger side and not the drivers side. still need to figure out the linkage from the pedal to the carb...

ole clara bel was getting ready to be fired up the other day. turned the fuel pump on and got a leak up above the frame rail. going to run new fuel line soon. oh yeah by the way i love my house but freaken hate the fact of my garage under the house. lets just say i didnt sleep any at all today from the fumes. garage stayed up all day long along with all the windows... renee wasnt very happy but she understood about the fuel line rusted out....

Been there and done that when I lived in Middletown, but my garage wasn't below the house. I was changing out my gas tank on a '69 Dodge RT and of course I didn't get all the gas out when I pulled the tank. I tilted it and gasoline ran all over the garage floor. It still smelled the house up. I slept in the backyard in a tent and happy it was not cold outside. I left the garage door and back garage door opened for 2 days to get rid of the fuel smell. And of course some fans. I used kitty liter and baking soda on my garage floor. I bought a gallon of white vinegar and put cups in every room of the house and filled them up half way. The odor of gasoline did go away after a few days in the house.

A good way to get rid of the smell of gas is to just throw a lit match down near it . It gets rid of the smell asap! But the smell of burning house is real tuff to wash off!

i called 2 different places today to see about having the carrier bearing and ujoints installed on the drive shaft.

1. Cincy Driveline and Hydros ~ My crappy review on them. I called just wanting a quote. I said I need a carrier bearing and ujoints installed, He said on what i said a 58 biscayne, guy said an international. NO a 58 chevy biscayne, he said does it have a tear drop looking thing on it. wth is that, i said it has a carrier bearing and that i didnt know what a tear drop looking thing was. then he got rude and i got pi$$ed off. if someone that works for a driveshaft shop doesnt know what a carrier bearing is then 2 things one theyve lost my business and 2 he needs to change fields.

Then I called B&T driveshaft. Explained the same situation. This time this guy says that they cant touch it for warranty sake that his daddy wouldnt let him. Well they will not be getting my business either.

that just my crappy opion and my rant for the day....

looks like clara bell is sold to a cousin of mine. i'm gonna miss her but right now shes gotta go....

money talks and b.s. walks, no cash was waved in front of my face and the 58 still sits in the way of the truck getting any work done on it. so tyler and myself crawled under it and got rid of the old gas line and replaced it with new.
