Rollin' Sixes

I decided to start re-doing my interior since I already have the seats out to put new steel in the floor. I've never done upholstry before, and figured I'd get some input.

Post pics when ya start. I've never done it but there are a few on here that I've seen some good work out of. Ron did his dad's seats and they came out real nice.

This is the way I found it. Original and rotten as all hell.[img]

I peeled off the mouse shit filled covering, paying close attention to how it was originally put together. I cleaned up the frame and began stretching, glueing and stapling the vinyl to the frame.[img]

I thought the door edge chrome would look better than just a rolled edge.[img]

After I covered the back cousion with blue velvet, I bolted it into the back frame. It makes me think of the song by Bobby Vinton........and the flick by David Lynch. My wife loves it when I use the dining room table as a workbench!![img]

I think the blue velvet is a pretty good match to my fire wall, (and my future roof)[img]

I AM NOT a Duke fan, but lately I keep hearin' "blue devils this, and blue devils that...), and I thought...since my screen name is devil themed, and I'm using blue as the feature color on my car, I should marry the two. Then I thought of the Marilyn Manson song "Snake eyes and Sissies". The lyrics are ..."I'm just a workin' man. I do the best I can. I got the Devil's hand, rollin' sixes." There you have it. The car is "Rollin' Sixes"

Upholstery looks nice. Blue Velvet is one of my favorite movies. All of Lynch's I like so far. I like The Spooky Kids version of "Snake Eyes And Sissies" better than the Reznor mix on Portrait. Anyways, post up some pics of the car if you want?

First weekend back on "SIXES" since injuring both my hands. Got some work done on the rotten front floor pans (while I have the seats out).[img][/img]

New steel. Measure twice...3 times...4 times...oh hell just cut and bend it already![img][/img]

Cool that you son helps out. I see your or his milk seat. LOL God forbid the Milk Police ever look in my garage. They make good storage bins too.

He's the only one of the 3 that cares about that old car. And yes...milk crates rock!

Metal all in...primed and painted!

I was so happy to do some metal work, I even made some window trim pieces for a house.

Looks good! I love metal work..It's like therapy for gear heads.

Got the inside of the roof under control. Cleaned up the rust. Primed. Painted silver...'til I get a headliner. Every time I shut the door rust and paint chips and other junk was fallin' in my hair.[/img]

The only other thing I have done lately...I re-did the passenger door and jamb inside and out, and installed original style weatherstripping. I've had to do these last few projects in the wee hours as I've been working a lot lately.

Back at it when I have the energy. One look at these rotten seats and I just get tired before I even start!

The upper part of the back seat was so rusty, rotten and so full of mouse nest...I had to start from scratch.
