Rolled the car out today and took some pics in the nice wheather. helps keep us motovated to see it in the sunlight.

January in washington and it got up to 50 degrees or so and no rain in sight for the weekend.

Will be filling in the cowl vent next week and start getting the rust cut out and replaced. when the rust is out the other body work can start so we can get it painted before summer. between the doors the post will be flattend and feathered in smooth so it's a flat panel.

no rear door, just a window. Twisted Evil

cut out the rusty floor pan and am installing new floors this week.

extended the rear frame rails 15'' and built a gas tank holder out of angle iron. pics at hotrodders.com/ruffriders web site of things that are being done this week. also put in the mock up motor & trans to check firewall clearance. have 2 1/2'' between distribtor and firewall so it will work. was worred about clearing everything with all the body mods, but all the stuff clears fine. gonna have to figure out exhaust soon.

more updates as they happen.

project cheapshot 33 dodge - Page 2 Empty floorpan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we started working on the floor pan and firewall. the oringal floor was to rusted out and unsafe to use. so 99% of the floor was cut out. to replace the floor pan l am using a method that worked good on my race cars. we are building a cage out of square tubing that runs from side to side and front to back out of 2" in the rear and 1 1/2" in the front so the metal floor sits on top of the floor cage . the floor pan will then be attached to the floor cage by welding. this makes a stronger floor pan than the oringal. the floor cage then will be attached to the chassis by bolts.

the fire wall will then be fabbed to the foor pan and welded together creating a one piece firewall to floorpan with no seams. many holes will have to be filled in and the redrilled in the places to run hoses, steering and other things thru.

post updates on progress soon,
