you should pull yours apart first so you can mic the big end of the rods to make sure they in spec before reassembling the short block. Was you gonna just pull the crank or are you pulling the whole engine apart. A new set of rings is cheap and now is the time to do it.....

It takes longer for some to learn than others! Kenny good luck, and keep your head up.. Just keep this in your memory banks next time your looking for an engine with your dog opinion being the only one your listening to. Everyone makes mistakes, just some more than others..I'm not bashing you , but you are driving home the point that most of us tried to steer you away from, if you sit back and add up all the money you spent and time, and the money you are gonna spend I bet your getting pretty close to a crate engine from a reliable source with a warrenty,or atleast a motor you could have heard run.. But then again, like my dad use to say what good is it if you buy him book's, get him clothes, send him to a good school, if all he is gonna do it eat the teacher. You just need to read back thru here and take in all the advice that everyone tried to give you, nobody was kicking dirt in your face and calling you stupid, they just did'nt want you to spend stupid money on a boat anchor. Good Luck

Look at it this way. At least when you get done, you'll know what you have. No guessing about bearings, rings, cylinder wall condition. You will know exactly what's in it and what it is worth. Dave

Kenny here is a budget rebuild for the shortblock (as long as the block is good). Hot tank and cam bearing and freeze plkugs 125, cast flat tops 80, recon the rods and press on pistons 110, crank kit and bearings 140, rings 25, oil pump 25. Hone the cyls yourself unless it needs bored out, that's about another 100. So 5 to 6 hundred will make ya a nice budget 350 short block that you know is good! Jut something to think about. Good luck
