looking for a 1/4 mile body
the rail looks like it will remain in Ohio. I thought it would be nice to get a motor in it so we could have some fun but there is to much politics involved with it to have it has a club racer. If anyone knows where we can find a 72 or down car body cheap let me know.I don't care if it's a Ford Chevy or Nopar. we can put what ever we want in it. I will spring for the body if we can find one under $175.00. it doesn't matter what it looks like. I figured we could build a 1/4 car for next summer. it will belong to the club. a member or a set of members will not own it. it will be owned by the club. all club member will be able to drive it, beat, wrench on it, if they wish to. what do you guys think about building a budget beater. gut it, strip it down to loose weight and toss in a stock engine and we can cut away at the ET as we beat it.

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
lets talk to the guy up the street on the Chevy...I can't swing it myself unless its a 200 dollar car, but I could help with a hundo to chip in...I bought a tubing bender to build a cage, have a vert and another lets go talchop style band saw, also a nice drill press and a new Holbart 185 220 volt welder.. also a nice straight axle several style wheels and a 305 small block...Lets go talk to the guy SERIOUS... I know I'm just an outsider and a none member but its an offer....I also have a killer start on a 48 F-1 Bobber truck chopped 5 in the front 3 in the rear on a started custom frame....I have banjo rears both mechanical, Killer set of New Auto meter Auto lite gauges 5' TACH, Speedo Water temp, oil pressure and fuel level....2 Electric fans with a custom fan shroud, DOT helmet, New Car Trailer and a hell of a mechanic at my disposal just waiting to do something like this....Lets Talk....Hell I guess I might have to throw my prospect hat into the ring and see if I can get an approval from the higher archy....Talk to me Steve...That Chevy looks like a good canidate, I know where there is a 58 Chev Pickup short bed fleet side for 200 complete but rusty
Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
It would have to be a true to form traditional car in my (non-member opinion) pre 64 ....opinions????

It's about a 71 Country Squire with a 460 and a C6. Good solid car but no title. That wouldn't matter for a strip teaser! Make him a Kentucky Boy! That way you wouldn't have to play with those Chevies.

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
I use to have a 67 tempest wagon that I gave a guy when I had to move. he stripped it down gutted it and it's been sitting behind his shop for the last 7 years. it's rough. I ask him about it a year ago and he told me that the car I gave him for free that ran he would now sell it back to me for 500.00. with the motor and inside gutted. what a friend huh. I walked on it. he may have come down on his price by now. I may talk to him. I had a few old cars that I just junked a few months ago that would have been perfect for this. had them forever and they were rotting away . I gave them to the junk man. figures huh.

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
is that the one he was going to pull the engine for his truck? we don't need a title for a race car. as long as will get a bill of sales or something in case someone at the track freaks out on us and says we stole it from them.Mr. Fabulous wrote:Yeah, it runs and drives and stops and steers and................ is setting in his driveway.

Re: looking for a 1/4 mile body
Maybe we could just weld some sheet metal to the outside and jump through the window.
