Cab is down and here are the rear cab mounts. I still get a kick out of them. Not sure what the purpose was unless it was to let the frame and cab flex under a twisted load or rough ground. Shackles like on a rear end. Yes they are factory correct.

Brake booster is on. So is the steering box, Steering wheel, suspension hooked up and more. It has some tight steering. No play. David and grandpa will like that. The play before was about half a turn. lol

Stock 350 or even a 305 with a 700R trans and a 4x4 S10 rear end would have the 47. streetable to go anyplace and would put it in the market if you did sell it. People want to be able to jump in their cars and turn a key and drive them like a daily.

David and I worked on the bed a little today. We managed to get the post off without messing up the patina. The post will be welded back on the bedsides.

David busted his butt today getting stuff done. I got the cold chills and I was done early. I'll be glad when warmer weather is here.

I did manage to get the new cowl rubber and brackets on and whipped up that snazzy copper line for the power brakes. I'll be running copper under the hood to give it a little flash.

You can see the wheel well is not centered. It's off more than normal in the picture because the cut is just the rough cut. By the time we are done the wheel will be centered better than Chevrolet did it.
Earl stopped by today and helped tape up the truck. Thanks for the help nephew.

I tried to get David to do a white firewall. He bucked up and went flat black. That's fine. I talked him into painting the inside to give it a little something, something.. He wanted to go flat black in there but I managed to talk him out of it. It wasn't easy. I think he just got tired of hearing me crybaby.

It was sanded down good, went over it again with a scuffing pad then cleaned it all up. Taped it up and getting ready to primer.

David doesn't like to tape.
The Good Grandson, David Hill - Page 3 Dscf0211

He was doing a good job but I think it just wasn't fast paced enough for him.
The Good Grandson, David Hill - Page 3 Dscf0212

Did I mention that David really hates to take stuff up. lol

David didn't like the way the shifter was bent. It was over too far to the left side. I figured if I was going to bend it why not do something a little more stylish.

Before
The Good Grandson, David Hill - Page 3 Dscf0221

I heat the stick up and made a few bends. Hard to see from the pics but it loops back and is bent over to the right to make a nice swoop. It was then ground down and smoothed out.

While I was working on the shifter Amy scrubbed the seat a few times and then soaked it with a protectant to try to take some of the dryness out of the seat. It had some type of paint on it that she used nail polish remover to try to get it off. Most of it come off.

I worked on the door latch and window on the drivers side. The window was stuck and the latch doesn't work. Not much luck on the latch but got the window up.
