New old ride Empty New old ride

Post by ferrell1cars February 26th 2013, 2:49 am

I traded for this last night. It is a 50 Chevy with the original 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the column. It is a 4 door with the rear handles shaved,it has brand new red interior,it is pin striped to death(by killer designs)and it runs and drives great. It has a top speed of about 55-60 because of the original enclosed driveline. If I keep it I plan on installing a newer style rearend and trans. My wife actually likes it so I will probably have to keep it for a little while. cheers New old ride 1950chevy001_zpsf0905a62New old ride 1950chevy002_zpsf310e004New old ride 1950chevy003_zpsc10c413aNew old ride 1950chevy004_zps1a36b453

You know I like it. Now I have to get my 49 running!

Darrin, KillerD did the stripes on my 61 Chevy years ago. he's pretty good. I have been wanting to stop by his house to see what he's into but Flatwoods, Ky is a good drive from here.

I pulled the engine out of my 49 due to the lack of power. I took it over in Ohio a couple times and on the highway I thought for sure I was going to get slammed in the rear. I have the mounts already in the car. It's just waiting for it's V8 to be pushed in her. those 6 bangers run good around town but 55 or 60 is pushing them hard.

Looks great! I'm with Steve though as I'd drop a small block in it but that's just me. Wink Looks like a good deal and glad that you and the missus are cruisin' already!
