It doesnt matter if you dig his style or not. He was a pioneer. He will be remembered with the names of the other greats. It is a real blow to the hot rod world.

That’s a real shame. I’ve always enjoyed seeing the cars he’s built and thought they were about all beautiful. One of the reasons I looked forward to the meet at IRP each year was to see the new creations from the West Coast. I know that the traditionalists have different tastes and are normally “Void of Boyd” but I would love to have one of the cars that came out of that shop. I got a chance to spend an afternoon roaming around his place about 8 or 9 years ago. At that time his shop was about three entire city blocks long. It was a memorable visit because a friend of mine and I were unguided and let alone to look at what ever we pleased. Of course that was long before the TV series.

That sucks to here that he is gone. I all ways liked the cars that he built. he will be missed.

tried to watch his shoes. but couldnt, ole lady bumped into him 2 years ago at the hot rod national she was pushing one baby around and the other was walking next to her they was headed to sit at the window to look at the cars out side good ole boyd and his hawaiin shirt stole her seat. ole lady wasnt to happy.........

I hate to hear of anyone passing away. I'm not a big fan but he did put out a few nice hot rods. I wonder if his wife will take over the shop now that he is gone?

well here is the way i feel guys.he was a carbuilder and he built a lil bit of everything .he started just like the rest of us .i think he built some bad ass rides 500k k for a couple of them . but i hate to see him go i didnt agree with him on alot of stuff on his show but real car guys that have been around like him a thinning out with out guys like him maybe it wouldnt be what it is today
