200r4 or 2004r trans????? Empty 200r4 or 2004r trans?????

Post by Brownie July 20th 2012, 3:28 pm

I have been kicking around putting a 200r4 in my 39 ford. Done a little research on them but thought I would ask around to see what advice you all might have.
Don't know if I want to rebuild it myself or have it done. The kicker is I just had the 350 turbo rebuilt last year. But would like to drop the RPM down a little.
Any advice would be helpful so FIRE AWAY!

Thanks !

I'm not sure about the 200. I'm running a 700R in the 54 so I can have the extra gas money I'm saving with the overdrive.

I KNOW THE 200 IS THE EXACT SAME LENGTH AS THE 350 TURBO AND ALSO USES THE SAME YOKE

That is one of the reasons that I was thinking about a 200.
The other is space. I would have to redo the trans tunnel.
