That was a common conversion. They use to sell those kits in adds in the back of all the hot rod magazines in the very early 80's. I have seen a few of them. Not sure what they were thinking.

That's really cool. It looks like an old Indianapolis 500 roadster from the late 40's or early 50's. It'd really be neat with a four cylinder Offy or an eight cylinder Novi in it. Those old Novi's sure were loud, you could hear them all the way around the speedway.

Built in 1959 by Wally Troy, a Jag dealer, as a street legal race car.

Yeah, it kind of resembles some of the old Formula 1 cars from the fifties. Did it have a 12 cylinder motor. Some of those motors over there had bunches of cylinders but not much CID. Where's the guy from England? If it's has a Jag connection, Stretch should know all about it. Right?

He was a Cali boy, it was and still is a small block Chevy although there is some debat as to what the CID was.

I thought it might have a Jag V-12 or one of the big six's that they used in the E-Type.

Went to Shaw Signs today he had this in his shop, a REAL Kurtis racer, was raced at Indy, 51-52 and 1953.....
