'49 Chevy
I like this project. The guy married a '49 to a caprice cop car for under $2000.

Cool project. It can be done cheap. Just have to think it through.

I do like it, but it isn't something I can realistically take on. Thought it might be a neat project for someone else around here though.

Re: '49 Chevy
Even if ya did I'd just keep the Vette and have the beater too. That or just forget the budget and a mate a 49 to the Vette.

Re: '49 Chevy
I know you're just pokin' fun but the neat thing about it is that the wheelbase matched up so well w/o any changes and the guy even used the Caprice seats because they fit so well.
The last thing I need to do right now is add to the size of the fleet. I have no place to put another car, I don't want to pay another penny for insurance each year, I sure don't want even another penny of tax load from another car or anything else, and I have a bunch of hard labor to do around here. Litterally I've been digging ditches all day, and probably all next week if not longer & my old bones don't like it too much.

I know what ya mean. I was just poking fun. Big Dave had an old 53? Pontiac that he did the same thing to years ago. Vickers is kind of doing the same thing. He has a 50 Chevy truck and is using the floors out of and S10 and mating it to a S10 body. Cool stuff and budget beaters for sure.

I forgot all about this post and have been trying to dig up the Caprice frame swap. I've been looking every night for about two weeks and it was on our forum the whole time. lol.
