Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
Here's the most recent pics I have.
I talked to a buddy with a machine shop today and I'm taking the short block to him this week. It's a large journal 327. He said he has a steel crank, a pile of Accel dual points and a shitload of other parts I'm looking for. I'm driving to Leitchfield this weekend to pick up the heads I won on Ebay and a Victor JR type intake he threw in. Hopefully I'll have a motor on the stand before Christmas.

Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
Nice !!!! I have a 1969 427 425hp engine that is date coded from the carb down except for the exhaust manifolds. The suffix code on the deck says it came out of a C.O.P.O. Camaro with a 4-speed. When i get all my current projects caught up i'm gonna hunt down a decent body for it......

They're 15X4. I have a set of Firestone 7.75-15's that are going on them.

Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
Here's where it is now.
I picked up a set of original Cragar Super Tricks for $80 and mounted the Firestones. A buddy of mine sold me a large journal std bore DZ 302 that he took the heads and intake and sold me the rest for $300. It was assembled dirty and test fired and dirt tore up the rear crank journal. Luckily they didn't run it long since I took the cam bolts out with my fingers. I had the crank turned .010/.010, the block cleaned up standard. I have a set of SR Torquer heads and a factory Z28 intake to put it together. I still need a gasket set, timing chain/gears and rockers to finish it up. I'll end up with a large journal 302 for about $1500.00 when it's done. Hopefully things will pick up and I can get it together, if not it may go down the road. I hate to even think about it after 11yrs, but there's a year of house payments sitting there doing nothing.

Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
That's a shame you may have to sell it. If it's the car or the house I can understand why. I know the car means alot to you. Hopefully things pick up.

Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
I've been working on the Camaro a lot lately, halfass trying to make the Pumpkin Run....
New gas tank
Rear hasn't looked like this in 10yrs
Still a LONG laundry list of things to do. I'm using parts I planned to replace just to get it running again, I figure I can replace them later. Will I make it? Dunno. At least it's going together.

Re: 1/2 Done 69 Camaro
Nice car, and good luck on your progress- hope you make it to the pumpkin run. Sounds like you've had this a while. I can relate: Last year I finished my 69 mach I I had in high school. I've owned the car since 1980, it came off the road in 84 for some side collision damage from a utility company, it went back on the road last year after I finally finished it 26 years later, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have a long term project and be forced to part with it for financial reasons. Let's all hope it sticks around for you, and things pick up..... my business here in NY has been on the skids for about 2 years, early August it started to pick up a bit, all of Sept it has been like the old days, but I'm thinking I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it looks like a freight train doin' about 85. Been looking at employment lately, but it's hard to get companies to talk to you when you have been on your own for 16 years- they all seem to know you have mind of your own, hey, its just tough getting anyplace to talk these days.... not much going on.

It runs, stops and steers. Still a few minor things before it's on the road.
