my f100
well, here is what i have been working on... its my nickle and dime truck.
it is all rattle canned. first red oxide primer then flat black and then this green color. when i am all done with it, it will be wet sanded to a patina look. the tires were done today with the tire paint you can buy online. not bad from far away but you can definately tell it when you get up close. the doors will end up having my grandpas garage name patina-ed on it also. it will be a summer cruiser with no door windows and just the essentials. i still cannot believe how well the paint is laying down on it. but i probably should not have said that until i was done with it. let me know what you think.

I like it. Looks like it will be a fun toy. I have been eyeballing one just like it sitting here in town for sale. I wouldn't mind having it but I have too much as it is.

Re: my f100
long story short... i saw an old man (owner before me) trying to put the fire out under the hood of the truck one morning and i stopped to assist him... ofcourse with the thoughts of catching him being so mad or upset that he would want to just get rid of it. he decided to sell it to me. but the catch was, someone else was holding the title to the tune of $300 (not the $90 he originally told me). so i contacted the holder and made a deal with him and got it pretty easily. took it home and paid someone a nice little chunk to get it back up and running. i then lowered it and bought some things here and there and this is where she is now. i stripped it all the way down and with no body work done, started to primer it just the way it sat. its not a perfect truck and thats the way i want it to be looked at. but honestly for the year, i am very surprised at how much rust there is not on it. lost interest in it a couple times and tried to sell it but things happened to prevent that. and ive found that the more time i spend on it, the more i want to keep it.

I seen a bike that did the same red with green over it like you are doing and thought that was the coolest color combo.customcabby wrote:from lowes, spray can and was satin

Re: my f100
here is the latest. true www and undecided on leaving the white wheel or doing a bright orange. and also having trouble getting used to the total rusted up hood or taking it back to the truck color and patina-ing it up. any and all opinions welcome.

Re: my f100
I'd do the hood like the rest of the truck. Maybe even do the wheels lik ethe rest of the truck??? The white is super bright to me. It takes away from the truck. all you see is the white. Just my 2 cents

Aggreed, ditch the rust, and paint the wheel's , any color but red... but maybe red first then black, over top and do your sanding trick on them, clear them with a satin clear or a gloss clear might look good..Just a stinky opinion..
Re: my f100
