Old Scroungers Rail Job
Years ago the club built a HAGR to run at the track. Sad to say due to some members, that are no longer with us the rail never got finished. It was a fun project. Some will remember it but for some of the newer guys here are a few pictures. This project is one reason I thought it would be nice to do another project such as the Scroungers Gasser Project. The idea of having many people on a team working together is something that isn't done now a day. Each person has something to give. Even if you don't think you do, YOU DO! By the time it's done anyone with an open mind, willing to listen, help and give ideas gives more back to others than they will ever know.
Just like the gasser we started with nothing! All parts were from club members.
A couple rails and we were ready!

It will be a story told while we have a group working on the gasser. That would be a great time for it.

Re: Old Scroungers Rail Job
Not to ruffle anyone's feathers but it was kind of a joke anyway. HAMB thought they could just make a class and get tracks to run them. There were a few people running a while back and I think 2 or 3 still do but it's not really what HAMB thought it would be. It was a cool idea but Ryan dropped the ball on trying to get everyone on board.junkyard junky wrote:Does anyone still race those?

I don't think there was that much interest in "Rail Jobs" that were that slow. They ran a few as an exhibition over at IRP one year at a GoodGuys event ( think that's what it was). They were miserably slow and very few ran without problems of one sort or another. It was almost like watching Jr. Dragsters. It's hard to generate interest with a show like that.

I saw people racing them for a little while then there were several for sale. Haven't seen anything about them for a while and was just curious. I figured people stopped racing them.
