That thing has a better body on it than the one I had 25 years ago had. Nice score John.

The one I had ran slots on all 4 corners with a flamed paint job. It was a cool car. I crashed it into the back of a 2 ton Country Squire Wagon. There was nothing left of it.

After watching Street Outlaws while being stuck inside the house due to snow, I started doing a search with pinto and ls engine.
Looks like its coming along good.

Re: 1971 Road Race Pinto....1.6L 4 speed
Took to Cornfield, must of you know our buddy Mike Wagner, I have always had him do this and that...took him the Pinto, a Mock-Up Block, bellhousing and the T5....and my Jegs Roll Bar......Sunday.....took him a few hours and she was done!!! Right now I just didn't have the spare time to do it...so I picked it up ready for me to install the Tubro Coupe Motor/Trans and get this pissed off Pony back on the road....

That's definitely old school. I had one in my '69 Dodge RT back in the 70's.

Re: 1971 Road Race Pinto....1.6L 4 speed
Back when the Pinto first came out a buddy's brother bought a new 1.6/4spd, and immediately went to town on it...turbo...head ported, polished, and milled...lowered with performance shocks and sway bars...aluminum slots with Pirellis. It was no slouch, and I'm betting that turbo 2.3/5spd is a blast.

I had always wanted to put one of the Capri V6s in a Pinto...now this thread has me wondering of the possibilities of one of the Ford turbo 3.8 V6s.
Sigh...so many car projects I'd love to tackle that I'll never be able to...so many I could have done over the 20+ years I put work above everything.

I soooooooo wish that were true.
With my mobility limitations there is not much I can do on most cars.
I have a Cougar that I got a little over a year and a half ago. I was only able to drive it a couple times before my limitations made handicap adaptations necessary. Back in the day, before my limitations, the work necessary would have taken a few days at the most. The work is still not done. I just can't get down and into the positions necessary to do the work.
The accessibility of the mechanical components during and after the build, and the size and weight of the body and frame, are the things that make my T-bucket based project viable for me. Except for final assembly, most of the work will be done with the frame on heavy duty saw horses, and me in a wheelchair.
Even with that, the project is a race with my diminishing abilities...right now the diminishing abilities are winning. But I can't think of any other design vehicle that would have the accessibility necessary to even get me in the race.
