I picked this one up last night. What an ugly car. No wonder you never see too many of them. She's ROUGH! When I say rough you know it's bad. It runs and drives though. It will make a good winter beater or flip if someone has to have it.Very Happy

I washed off the crud with Comet and Simple Green, tossed on a set of old hubcaps just to beat around in it.

The grille drove me nuts. Where would you ever find one.
72 T-Bird, The Ugly Duckling 05210

After looking at it I thought it was a long shot but gave it a shot at flipping it.
72 T-Bird, The Ugly Duckling 08111

It worked. I just flip it upside down and the broken piece is behind the bumper.

The roof is shot it full of holes from the top that was on it. If it wasn't turning off cold I'd hack the roof off and make a full time roadster out f it.

When I was going down the road I kept hearing this high speed whistle. It kind of sounded like a wheel bearing going out. It took me about an hour to find out it was air coming through the roof through these rust holes.

Yep, that roof must be like driving a big whistle. That thing one of those 400M's or a 351C?

It will smoke the hides until you let go of the right pedal. Well not hide(s) just hide. One wheel deal.

That's pretty cool! You don't see these very often at all. Are you going to fill the holes to keep the whistling and rain/snow drainage to a minimum? Nice idea on the grill! That would have driven me nuts too. And what's with the red hood springs and yellow air cleaner and core support? I'd have to paint that air cleaner the proper blue...I'm too OCD LOL!Laughing

Good deal for sure!

That's it...fill the holes and DA sand it down to knock a bit of the rust off. Then paint the area that would have the vinyl roof with Rustoleum black and then clear that. I'd do it in a New York minute, buddy!

Not sure what I will do with the roof yet. I have to see if the car grows on me. If I don't feel it I just can't work on it. I've always been like that...

like nanook said fix the roof and paint it flat or satin black but not just the top the whole car, than lower it on some nice wheels. it would look mean then.

I'm not sure what they were thinking when they did their yellow and red paint job under the hood. I'll have to do something about it when time comes. Right now I need exhaust on it before the law stops me. It sounds bad.

15x10 slots. I have a set of 7" for the front if I use them. What do you think? too far out there? I have owned these wheels 2 times. I gave them to the club once. These where the wheels that were on the club's Falcon gasser when it was sold. Dog kept them, told me he had them down in Kentucky at his new house and he would sell them to me. It was road trip time.

I wish I had a set of 29 or 30" tall x 10'" wide Mickey's to go on those rims. The wheel opening is huge! This thing is a boat.

I see you took my advice...and it really helped with the look! I'd put the chrome spars back on but that is just me...I'm a bit of a trim purist.Laughing

Digging the slots but if this is your winter rig I'd only use them in the summer.
